Your $900

Post by The Dr Of Style on Wed Apr 08, 2009 5:02 pm

I say it's yours as it's basically your tax dollars coming back to you.....anyway......I'm not necessarily convinced this is the best solution to this financial crisis but I'm not gonna say no to my payment.......Just wondering if everyone is going to spend this responsibily like Swanny suggests?

For the last couple of months the wife & I have started putting %25 of our wages into a savongs account which will go towards renovations, trip to canada/honeymoon & saving for a baby next year sometime so our cash will be going into that account......so yeah it'll get spent but not this year.........where's yours going?

I don't think I'll be getting it - I keep hearing all this trash about having to have paid $6k in tax to get anything. I have no problem with this - I have a problem with them not being straight up with the info from the get-go.
All I was told was that I had to earn under X amount of $ and have actually submitted a return for that year. Now, nothing.
Could have really used that dough too. Currently scraping together the pennies for a trip to the US in August.
Thanks Mr Rudd for the crystal-clear info.

I was thinking about putting some of it towards a better acoustic guitar and saving the rest. There's a chance I may be heading back to the US for work this year so I'll wait until that is confirmed before I spend anything.

Sweetest, if you paid your tax last year, and you earned between $6K and $100K you'll get it.

The only person I know of who has received their cash is living in England now. That's been one of the stupidest parts of this, we're actually sending money overseas to stimulate our economy.

Not sure what I'll do with mine...maybe a holiday in July.

It should be paid automatically, depending on how you receive your tax return. It'll be paid automatically into your bank account if that's normally how you go, otherwise you'll get a cheque in the mail.

They're sending cheques out by choosing random postcodes, so as not to overload certain post offices all at once.

This will be going straight into my savings account for a rainy day.....not want the Govt wants me to do with it but then again, this idea of giving money to people who have a job is kinda ass about anyways.

Yeah I don't get it either. Probably along the same lines as why my grandmother takes money out of her bank account beforehand to pay for grocery shopping.
Though I wonder what happens to the people who have changed their account since the tax return...

I dont have mine yet but i have bought a new dishwasher since mine packed in the other night and the wife is not to happy having to throw in 2 and a half buckets of water to get it to work,
I offered to buy her a bigger bucket but she wanted a dishwasher.
I've done my bit for the economy, now im waiting until times get better and both income tax and GST go up to recoup the money they have handed out to us.
And Mahz you do know people go to jail for tax evasion don't you? Wink

I'll probably use mine to pay the next months rent. I do have a number of Hot Toys figures, so I'm interested to know what particular figure you have in mind.

My wife and I both should get it, not in the bank yet. As we are both redundant we are saving most of it but I did spens some on:
Graphic novels
Super hero squad
Flip out sofa for my little daughter
And dinner at hogs breath
