Lightning bolt just hit my backyard.

Post by TheMyth on Fri Apr 03, 2009 6:34 am

a tree was once there and now it is not.

never heard such a loud noise in my life.

and bloody hell, having a lightning bolt hit the ground 20 meters away fro you is neither fun nor exciting. but it does throw out your sense of sight, sound and smell very quickly. yes, it indeed smells!

*back into non-idiot-forum-lurker mode* glad nothing else got hit though, and that the tree didn't hit your house.

I'm going to guess crispy fried.

I must admit I did laugh to myself a little at the thought of just missing out on super powers. but i'll only share that little truth with everyone here, I don't wanna be committed to any psych wards any time soon.

Nothing as exciting as a tree, but the storm appears to have fried the downlights or the circuit in our kitchen. Our safety switch got tripped and everything elese came back except those.

well, we kinda wanna get rid of foxtel to tell the truth.

as i said early next doors backyard is much much worse. it seems the lightning has come down, hit one of the metal posts that holds up a shade sail and then smashed the tree that's ended up all over our next door neighbors back yard, well i should probably say in their pool. There is a good 25 meters worth of tree in there and it's a branchy leafy bastard too, not straight up and down, more rounded in shape. I'll see if i can get some shots tomorrow of whats left of the tree. Not sure next door will be too pleased with me taking shots of their mess of a backyard.
