that's just insane prices for such small figures, I thought $25 was too much for 6" at retail (although I'd gladly pay that for DCUC) so you can count me out!

So, this is the only ML news from NYCC:
* The second wave of Marvel Legends 2-packs with Iron Man that was shown at SDCC originaly are now Toys R' Us and Diamond Previews exclusives.
http://marvelousnews.com/index.php?catid=23&itemid=11963

I guess that means it's a good chance that TRU will sell them locally.

Has anyone heard ANYTHING from NECA at NYCC? I want more TMNT damnit. pale

They sold the first series for $39.99 a pack.

No indication that it might be different for Series 2 yet.

Oh I get it. Not doing 6" ML this year is their way of saying,
"So we're actually trying to ditch it, but we'll pretend we aren't. In the meantime, here! Have our typical shit-arse 3 3/4" regular kind of Hasbro figures at the same price you used to pay for 6" ML! After a year I promise you won't notice..."

Hahaha, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking.

Well, except for the "shit-arse" bit, as the MU figures actually have decent paint apps. Rolling Eyes

(Gee Hasbro, you think the ML line might have done better if it had decent paint? tosser)

DCUC looks awesome. Dont care about Mantis or Chemo, but all the rest of 9 looks great! another walmart wave is sort of lame though Sad And Wave 10 will have Joker, Man-Bat and The Question in it, all cool news.

marvel 3/34 look pretty cool but like otehrs Im not starting again....Unless they give Mattel the lience Wink Mattel doing marvel Universe Classics in the same scale and style as the DC ones would blow me away!

Ghostbusters Im in for both scales on the leads at the very least.

All the DCUC, JLU & DCIH figures looked cool. Not really into the Marvel 4" line though...it just doesn't grab me for some reason.

Movie Masters were amazing, the new Bruce Wayne in funky suit & all the Ghostbusters product.

Not a huge showing for DST, Captain Sisko in command chair looks freakin sweet though. Nothing new for BSG & I didn't see any Stargate.

Playmates re-issuing the vintage Turtles is kinda cool...I still need Bebop & Rocksteady.

Why would Wolverine and Omega Red use the same body?

DCUC uses a lot of similar bodies, but thats coz their heroes are of similar size, as are Marvels. They have bigger and smaller ones too. But the STYLE is consistent with DCUC, which just makes them better!

I think Marvel figures using DCUC bodies would be awesome..I think if they toned down the Demon/Bizarro body with decently scaled lower body Wolvie would look nice..

From what I've heard Sota is borderline out of business now, they just haven't officially thrown in the towel yet, at least I don't think they have. Mezco is suffering quite a bit too, or so rumours say, but they were still managing to get product out there at least, last I heard, but I'm sure there have been cutbacks, with probably more to come.

Neca I don't know what the deal is to be honest, but they've noticably slowed down a lot of late. I imagine that right now it's probably just too risky to buy much in the way of licenced material for new release product, so they're mostly relying on rights they already have aquired, and choosing very carefully in regards to anything else. And McFarlane is concentrating more and more on other areas, but they are still releasing product, but it's mostly sports related, Halo or in house properties it seems.

Honestly I'm sure they're all suffering considerably from the slump, so everyone is cutting costs and limiting risk wherever they possibly can, and things will likely only get worse for them all too, as niche markets that basically rely on people's disposable income to thrive are usually the first thing that people stop spending money on during tough economic times. And we haven't had much tougher than what's going on right now.

Sadly, I imagine that a few companies will fold in the next year or so, while others cut right back or even go into voluntary hibernation until safer economic times are back on the horizon.

Nothing to be scared off iv never had a problem with it,some of the best sculpts i have ever seen you wont get a dcuc baf anywhere near the same level as the sentinel !! And every dc figure is the exact same height and thats a scale issue in it self Very Happy but hey i love the dc figures as much as you and id rather mattel have the marvel licence over gaybro anyday, but marvel would not work the way dcuc is done imo.
