Mattel Asks: What Would You Buy?

The toy industry, right now, is very odd. Half the companies have sacked their press reps, making it difficult to get in touch while the others blog nearly every day...

Now Mattel takes things a step forward, asking if you'd take a little time to tell them EXACTLY what you'd like to see them make.

"We'd like to invite you to participate in our new action figure research survey. As we strive to best meet your needs for action figures and collectibles, your responses are very important to us and will help us in our development of future products. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and all of your answers and information will be kept strictly confidential."

I thought the survey was pretty decent, although the selection of Batman/Superman figures was pretty limited (that is, you couldn't choose more than just one figure that you wanted).

Looking forward to seeing if/how Mattel use the results.

Cheers.

Drats! I was hoping for an open field question where I could suggest they put all of their items online to purchase - past and present.

If the feedback on the Matty Mattel Facebook page is any indication, distribution is their number one issue. They have the product. Extend the Mattel Collector site from 2 items per property per quarter to everything, now.

You can't work in any of the areas/fields listed in the options provided by Mattel in the first page. If you select "none of the above" you should be able to complete the entire survey.

No idea why they're not interested in what collectors who are real estate agents, advertisers, etc think about their product. One of Mattel's funny little trade mark quirks I guess?

Cheers.

Page 2, and it's already looking stupid...
5. In total, how many action figures would you say you own as part of your collection? (Please use the arrows to select your number or type it into the field directly)
I type in 1000 (probably closer to 800, but I was rounding off), and I get: Please enter a value between 0 and 100.

Suspect

If you don't want accurate results, then what's the bloody point?! Rolling Eyes

Ergh, Question 12 was retarded...

Ok, done.

I told them that I wanted Mighty Max, Dino-Riders, and more MotU. Cool
