The Watchmen

Post by behemoth on Fri Jan 16, 2009 3:25 am

Who has read this? After seeing the trailer for the new movie the other night, I must say that it looks very interesting.

Is it a good read? Is it worth its hefty price tag?

Read it 10 or so times and it's as good or better each time. It's one of, if not the, most acclaimed comic stories. I don't think the price should be too bad, there's a few versions out there, but the paperback should only set you back $30. I upgraded to the Absolute HC edition a couple of years ago, I'll have a look if I still have my old copy lying around.

Just wait until after the movie comes out, I'm sure a number of book stores will be selling these at discount prices. It is worth it though even at full RRP.

Definitely worth the price, search e bay for a second hand copy. Although the prices may have gone up due to the pending release of the movie.

Yep loved it worth reading. I really dont know how they will bring it to the big screen though. Will they stick with just the main story ?
