Matty just released pics of wave 17, the rumored rainbow lantern wave!

I know a lot of fans are crying foul over this but as a modern comic fan I think this is fantastic Very Happy

I think it's great for GL fans, and judging by the love in the room at NYCC, there are many. While I do read GL and GL Corps, I'll probably skip the figures and concentrate on the Anti-Monitor CaC/BAF figure - I tend to store my variant cosutmes in favour of classic or modern costumes.

Read online about a rumoured leaked list of wave 18:

* Samurai
* Superman & Bizarro (interchangeable head and hands)
* Manhunter
* Black Vulcan
* Metallo
* El Dorado
* C&C: Apache Chief

I like the wave, but I can see why some would be pissed off to purchase those figs that they didn't want to own just to get that AWESOME Anti-monitor.

I can't understand why Mattel would be falling over themselves to put out figures of these characters when DC Direct have already announced them? I'll be getting the DCD versions thanks.

Im a big GL fan, but this wave is a big pass for me. Scarecrow, Atom and the Anti Monitor all have gorgeous sculpts, but I dont need any of those figures really.

I like the Wonder Woman, but that's the only one I'll be chasing.

If they did Black Lantern versions of all the main Justice Leaguers (Superman, Batman, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Hawkman and Hawkgirl), then I would have wanted a complete set, but I don't want a bunch of mixed coloured lanterns with no real relationship to one another (other than the fact they're all lanterns).

Still, saves me money I guess. If I keep saving money, then maybe one day I'll be able to afford a Giganta.

Cheers.

Yeah I've got a number of incomplete waves as well. Hopefully I'll have time in 2011 to catchup.

Toy Fair news:

A Crime Syndicate 5 Pack for Wal-Mart.

Wave 18:

Bronze Tiger Classic
Captain Boomerang Modern
Samurai
El Dorado
Black Vulcan
Toyman

C&C Apache Chief

6" Young Justice: Aqualad, Robin and Artemis.

DCUC/MOTUC two-pack: She-Ra and Supergirl.

I'm going to have to start saving now to obtain the CSA 5-pack from Ebay. Curse Mattel for their insistence on US-retail store exclusives!

Cheers.

Wow, looks like they are going pretty hard on the Superfriends in the next wave...

And if I collected DCUC I'd have no real problems with the rainbow wave myself, though it is odd that these will be hitting about the same time as the DCD wave which also features a lot of these characters.

Mind you there have been rumours floating around recently that DC Direct are phasing down now that there's new management, and are changing the way they do things and what product they release in the future too, so interesting days ahead...

Crime Syndicate figures look great. But the news I'm really interested in most is the Batman Legacy line, which includes two packs of movie or videogame (including the upcoming Batman: Arkham City) related characters, and single carded releases of comic based figures, including [b]finally[/i] the release of a trenchcoat wearing Joker figure!

That one is so going on my Joker shelf...

DCUC from NY Toy Fair '11 - http://www.actionfigurepics.com/2011/02/toy-fair-2011-mattel-dc-universe-classics-and-green-lantern-classics-report#more-10852

Loving the Crime Syndicate and Legion of Super-Heroes boxsets. The Super Friends wave (wave 18) is looking good, surprised Mattel went with the post Blackest Night Capt. Boomerang uniform rather than classic. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if they pull a Riddler and release a classic version somewhere down the line.

hey guys, just a heads up that if you want a shot at the new DCUC sub figures get your order in before 8th August:

http://www.mattycollector.com/DRHM/store?Action=DisplayProductDetailsPage&SiteID=matty&Locale=en_US&Env=BASE&productID=233873400

If the thermometre at http://www.mattycollector.com doesn't reach 100% the sub isn't going ahead

sub figures so far announced:
- Flash (Jay)
- Starman
- Atroticus

WOW! I voted for Metron as the sub exclusive - Rocket Red is too much of a given (what with the new JLI), Shaggy Man is a bit too kitsch for me (which means he'll probably win), and BL Swamp Thing has zero interest for me. I really hope Metron gets over the line.

That's a pretty cool way of doing it so we all know how the interest is going.

I won't be signing up for this lot. I do love the DCUC characters but I'm all subbed up for 2012!

So August 8th is the deadline? What happens if you buy one and it doesn't go through? LOL, Digital River better not give me the "Sorry, we are unable to refund your money" excuse.
