New Wave of Spidey

Post by stencilator on Tue Oct 28, 2008 9:57 am

I was at DJ's at Bondi Junction today and spotted a new wave of Spider Man Classic Figures. They included a scuba diving Spidey, a black and red Spidey, two versions of Iron Spidey (one solid red, one clear red), black Spidey, Venom, and Carnage. They all look pretty nice with complete toybiz levels of articulation... like individual fingers (big plus in my book), but the $17.95 price tag means I'll wait for Big W to get them.

Thats because most of them are toybiz sculpts and molds you can tell the diffrence between the hasbro figures to the toybiz.

Spotted yesterday in Big W Arndale, S.A. new Spidey figures (old sculpts), Green Goblin, Carnage and Venom. No Iron Spider-mans, clear or otherwise.

Has anyone spotted the armoured (quilted) spider-man as part of this line? At Minotaur, they had every character except this one.

Hopefully these will be widely released! Is this the same series that Puma is scheduled for?

Yep. Found these at Big W Highpoint today.

Seems to be a case of:
4x Venom ("Amazing" Series 16, repaint)
4x Carnage (Fearsome Foes, repaint)
4x Green Goblin (Ramos, repaint)

It is the Carnage from the Box set which is predominantly red with black highlights as opposed to the black with red highlights as was released as a single.

Having both, I definitely think this (new) one is better.

Arrow PICS!

- Venom has a faux-metallic blue sheen, and the Mac Gargan-Venom spider-logo.
- Carnage has black accented extremities, and a slightly golden hue to his chest (like Ultimate Carnage).
- Green Goblin is in more muted colours.

You are 100% correct, sir.

Just one more thing to add to the list of things Hasbro has ballsed up.

Saw these at Big W the other day. Only the Villians wave.

The silver eyes on Carnage are a nice touch....not paticualrly accurate but looks cool.
