Recent Stylings - SOTA Charlie Nash WIP p2

Post by The Dr Of Style on Wed Mar 04, 2009 6:09 pm

got this one rolling this week.....inspired by someone @ the fwoosh.... basically a guile repaint......sculpted the rolled up trouser legs, trimmed down the boots to make shins & sculpted the top of the new boots (he has them open with the laces tied round the back) shaved off the fabric rolls/folds of the singlet as he's bare chested, sculpted new hair & chopped up an Akuma Gi top & sculpted the collar etc. .....just need to make a watch & some glasses and nearly done

Hey thanks for the nice comments, ForgottenSon, Scream Man & Hemble....... so my latest project (ie: doing stuff so I don't have to do work) is Yang & Yun - karate brothers from StreetFighter 3 or Alpha or whichever one...here's a source pic.
http://test.vizspot.com/content/images/yun-yang.jpg
...Basically started as 2 SOTA Fei Long's , I've sculpted the baggy pants (probably need to be bigger) sculpted gloves on one & painted them on the second one, sculpted the apron type shirt/neck collar, sculpted the hat onto a Sota Vega head to get the pony tail, sculpted the spiky hair onto a Fei Long head for the other guy.....painted with Createx paints ......just need to pick up a 6" scale skateboard to finish off

so a front shot ......

next shot from behind was supposed to show detail of the heads/back but looks more like a mobile phone shot of 2 guys urinating, with 1 offering to shake for the other...... Suspect

and this last one i like to call "Carn Sota if I can make them so can you" ahhhh pipedreams

Well back at it again......... first drew in pencil then inked it

then masked it off and fired up the airbrush.....

pic is brighter in person but turned flash off as there was too much glare.

Ok same again....wife away at work so instead of marking school work I procrastinated by doing some more art
Grey Variant Dhalsim.....still needs some darker shading to be done and a bit more colour on the skulls but we're getting there.......

And a blowup version of one side of a Hellraiser Lament puzzle box......might do a few more of these....really happy with how it turned out. is about 70x70cm

as always thanks for looking

Re: Recent Stylings - Engine P 6

Post by The Dr Of Style on Sat Dec 12, 2009 9:20 am

So I'm off to Canada this sat to the in-laws.....thought I'd make a model for my father inlaw of his car....better than socks & jocks I thought. He's got a 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger 383 V8......bought it off ebay a few years back and restored it.(was his first car) so this is the first model ar I've done for prob 20 yrs and gotta say found it quite relaxing and enjoyable to build.....so here's the original actual car

Airbrushed the body in metalic....and added foil tape to the windows/wheel wells then the guy at the hobby shop said I should clear coat it..
...did that then all the paint of course reacted and started peeling (#*@&!!!) ended up putting the whole body into a bath of thinners and the paint all came off.......but left it in a bit long and the whole body softened & ripped in half as I pulled out (#*@&!!!!!) so had to get a new kit shipped from the states...
...second body enabled me to redo an engine in the correct colours (first engine shown as I assumed it was the same colour as the body).......Added the red ignition lines (8 wires sculpted to the distributer) which on this engine is in a different spot but hey.
Used wheels from a different kit to have the chrome domes in the centre...
. all in all pretty happy how it's turned out and think it's very close to the source car. Just waiting on the bonnet paint to dry then will pack up and hopefully get it to Canada in one piece. as always thanks for looking
