ok so i have already done one of these hulks, but i picked up one from aldi for $7 and had it sitting there in its pack begging for some paint. i thought this would be one for an ebay listing, but im thinking of keeping him. i really like this figure. the sculpt is great and with a much needed paint job looks like a new hulk. i was going to paint in his eyes, but i felt the white eyes made him look really pissed. and kinda like a hulk cover that dale keown did back in '92 (cant recall isssue Embarassed )
any hoo, see what you all think:

if any one looked at my collection thread they would of seen the gold predator bust. well, gold sucks. so here is my attempt at making it look better. never again will i do some thing like this. so many disatsters from colour schemes that totally stuffed up to paint peeling off after i'd done details. very frustrating. dont know why it did it as i always undercoat. some thing this big is suited for an airbrush. by hand nearly drove me insane. argh. any how, here he is, i think i turned a $100 gold predator into something a bit better:

A little bit of pastel work on the helmet to bring out some of the shadow on it should make it pop just a bit more along with trying to blend in those browns on the chest area
Looks good though

the brown on the chest is meant to be a dotted like skin pattern, not meant to be shading. up close that comes through a bit better. i can still do a bit more to this i know, but at this stage i'm just over it. always can come back to it later i guess.

Cool, but you know what i want to see?

texture! all the way baby! but seriously folks, just to break up some bigger areas, maybe nab some wire gauss or netting or something, mask off some areas, hit with light spray pak for texture.

wonder if i explained that right...hmm

but much bettr than gold =-)

well i learnt a lesson. dont buy recast resin kits from ebay! i thought i'd grab one to try my hand at another predator. figured i could not go wrong for a hundred bucks. boy was i indeed wrong. pulled this out of the box to finf big chunks of resin all over the hanmds and fingers. huge seem lines. holes in the dreds. argh! when i tried to file doen the hands, the fingers bloody snapped off. i was about to throw it in the bin when i thought i'd use my brain. i clean it up as best i could, as the seems were so bad any real attempt to file back would of lost detail. i sawed off the crap hands and attatched spare hand from the hot toys lost predator. i dint give up and he turned out fantastic! i really love the red. and i am quite pleased with the skin. any how, check him out. feed back more than welcome.

predator fetish anyone? hehe.

nah nice going, but hard lessons on the bloody ebay recasts isnt it! i have my fair share of anime kits i got in the long distant past, and it makes you appreciate a good cast vs ebay casts!

i want the eyes to be a different colour! golden perhaps? hehe
