celtic predator resin kit pg.3

Post by DAMNATION666 on Sat Oct 04, 2008 5:34 am

hey guys and gals! when it certainly has been ages between posts for me. i'm hardly ever on the net now, so that makes things difficult. and now with my new fiance (getting married next may!! cant wait) i kinda have a life lol! one of the best things about melissa is she always encourages me to be creative< and she also has a creative side. so last week she convinced me to do a new hulk, and i attempted to teach her how to do ine herself. while i went the standard hulk, she went her own way and had a blast doing it. he hulk was done with metallics and looked awesome! andy hoo, this was the first one i've done in nearly a year. simple custom, war hulk head, planet hulk torso and huouse of m legs.

im not really impressed with it, but it did get me back into it. i must say, having some one take an interest and sit with you is a nice change from being told off for doing customs!
so now im starting to get the bug back, i whipped up another in no time. again, simple custom. i used planet hulk body with face off head. i sculpted the ripps in his pants. i wanted this to look retro. like 80's bright coloured hulk. i must say myself that im extremely please with how the paint job turned out. i tried a few new things i'd never done before and it paid off thankfully!

well, with melissa painting next to me i feel like i can do any thing! i plan on rolling out the customs once again, and keep thinking outside the square. ah, its good to be back!!

Welcome back Dammy, long time no post, LOL

Your new customs are tight and i really like the Goth/alternate look Melissa gave to her custom, sort of like Super Glam Hulk...

Hope to see more soon.

well i never thought i'd do a non hulk repaint! and while he is still green, it was a lot of fun doing something a bit different. i had fun doing the shoes and the jeans. i whipped savage dragon up in about 2 hours, and that also made me very happy. well, looks like i have the bug back!!

this image aslo shows melissa's second repaint. she was an elf from the shadowrun figures. once again she did it her way, and i love how she turned out.

im currently re-painting the grey savage hulk from the hulk legends series. why he was not green in the first place i'll never know. should have him done tonight so ill post pics as soon as he is done.

It's amazing how much better Hasbro's ML figures look when they have, you know, PAINT APPLICATIONS on them.

Is it easy to switch waists? I am thinking of the following:

Face Off head
Planet Hulk upper torso + arms
Face off Jeans
Planet Hulk feet

ok, i know what you guys are going to say, sean you have already made 3 planet/king hulks. while thats true, i still dont think i captured the comic look. afeter re-reading the planet hulk recently, seeing how the latest hulk comics are pure ass, i was inspired to make a comic accurate planet hulk. what do you all think? im very proud of him. i nice big chunky hulk.

switching waists is a real pain. you gotta be carefull. i nearly put a screw driver through my hand once! face off hulk jeans are no good in my opinion. way to long. i love the head of face off hulk, best hulk ever, but those legs are goofy Crying or Very sad

Torso swapping can be a real pain. Things get easier if you have a dremel (or something similar like a drill) and some putty. Basically attack the seams in the crotch with the dremel before using a screwdriver to open the waist. Once you're happy with the dry fit, glue and putty up any holes.
