Scored this series last week along with the SDCC bloody Cylon and was very happy with them all. I think the reviewer was just looking for someone to moan about, the Starbuck head sculpt is great, certainly not 'unrecognisable'. I agree with the point about still waiting for some of the main characters but I hope this series continues for some time yet.

I received these last week some time. I am very pleased with them.

I do agree with the reviewer somewhat about the figures resemblance. But I've been collecting DST for many years, from Buffy to Star Trek & they're hit & miss in that area. I accepted & moved on. Starbuck isn't that bad for Jean St Jean if you've seen figures like Star Trek's Wesley Crusher!

What I found odd was the use of gloss paint for Starbuck & Kat's skin. Makes them look all sweaty. If you look at it as a 'sweaty battle version' then they are fine. They look very shiny standing near the others. Helo in the set has matt face paint.

Awesome articulation in the line. Really like all the bodies we have so far.
Excellent accessories too!

Here's my crew:

You can't see the glossy flesh in this pic...but the girls are shiny.

Haven't seen Razor yet. So I'm looking forward to wave 4 a lot more than wave 3.

Apparently the D'Anna/Boomer & Lee/Dualla sets are still having troubles finding a home.

President Lee looks pretty bad, first time I saw it I thought it was meant to be Baltar. Hadn't seen the pilot Sharon/Boomer before

I've been collecting these figures and overall I'm pretty impressed.

The likenesses of the figures does vary dramatically and as yet I don't think DST have achieved a perfect or even a great likeness on any of the characters (although Chief Tyrol was decent, if a little skinnier than I recall and the planned Number Three looks very good, if it ever gets released).

The articulation is definitely a winner with these figures and the accessories in series 2 were a major improvement over the accessories (or lack thereof) in series 1.

I'm looking forward to series 4 (Admiral Adama and President Roslin), although I'll be passing on series 3 since I didn't enjoy Razor all that much and I have little interest in purchasing figures of characters that had 2 hours screen-time at the most when characters like Boomer, Baltar, Tigh, Leoben and Cavill still haven't been released.

Cheers.

I'm quite worried about that wave. It seems to have little fan support.

Surely one bad selling wave could not kill the line?? pale

I would hope DST would simply recognise that a few very minor characters cannot anchor/sell a line and will concentrate on releasing series 4 as soon as possible and be sure to include some major characters in series 5.

If Admiral Cain was in series 3, then it would have at least one heavy-hitter. Then again, I could be underestimating the "old school" fans and they may well snap up every single old school Centurion available (although that will still leave Kendra Shaw and Husker to occupy the shelves - Gina will probably do well given it's a Six variant).

Cheers.

Well, it happened with comic Hellboy, a great line with so much potential that saw only 2 waves Mad Sad

I wasn't sure if your name was Scott or Andy! Very Happy

And I agree with your comment about Kara. If not for the fantastic bodies, most of these figures would be duds. Jean St Jean is not the best sculptor in the world.

I had thought I'd heard that scanning technology isn't too expensive these days. But you still have to get the actors to the scanning studio's & pay for all that stuff...I'd imagine DST is too poor. Atleast they sure make out to be.

Oh that is confusing. My name is Scott but I go by Andy online - it's a derivation of my surname.

BRISBANE - Comics Etc now have the first series for $10.00 each - BARGAIN for those who didn't already pay $25.00 each for them (curse my impatience and fear that these figures will sell out).

Cheers.

Apparently there are 4 Cylon Centurians now.

Cylon Centurian - regular version plain grey plastic
Valley of Darkness Cylon - blood spattered
Downloaded Cylon - shiny aluminum looking Cylon

And now:
New Caprica Cylon - dark weathered look

Whoa - I'm looking at their online store, and they say the BSG figures are $20 each - I wonder if it'd be possible to get them to do them for this discounted price online?

Not sure about ordering online. I think they're decent at replying to emails, so perhaps just drop them a line and check.

Cheers.

As someone who travels to Brissy for work occasionally and always visits Comics Etc., I can say that their in-store sale prices don't seem to make it on the website. Suspect
