I know there's shipping costs involved in getting these things over here but seriously, according to www.xe.com right now:

8.00 USD = 9.01320 AUD

If these things were 10 bucks I'd be all over them, but what are they here actually $19?

The Iceman wrote:Received both my Secret Wars 4 and the set of six singles from the new wave all from the BBTS. Total cost to me in AUSSIE dollars - $179.77 including airmail freight. There is quicker and more expensive shipping but hey these arrived in 6 days so why pay more. Being as there are 12 figures in total that works out at $15.00AUS each which is cheaper than retail here anyway (even though I think they should be around $12 mark).
In the Secret Wars sets I love Doom & Absorbing Man and Bulldozer. A bit disappointed with the matching up of the red on Nightcrawler's chest and torso plus the black shading across the forehead doesn't look quite right to me.
In the singles happy with all of them but modern Thor and Extremis Iron Man are the standouts for me.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Another Adelaidian Smile

My Wave 7 and SW Comic packs arrived. Thor is absolutely awesome, easily one of the best figures released in MU so far. Doctor Doom is also pretty good, if only for the iconic status. This is my first Doctor Doom figure ever

My only negative is I always figured Nightcrawler was smaller than others in the comics but he seems to almost tower over Mohawk Storm (who he is packed with). But overall that is my only gripe. I am very impressed with the last SW comic pack and the 2010 waves so far.

There is still so much more to come

I can understand why these weird little figures aren't for everyone.
I mean that Wave 6 Wolverine head sculpt is just awful but the "Gigantic Battles" figures are pretty cool.
They don't seem to be lowering in price at department stores either. I think the cheapest I have seen them at a K Mart/Big W is maybe $16.
I do collect them though because... well... err... I'm a sucker like that I guess. It might be just me but I do prefer these to the Marvel Legends range (at the risk of being torn apart by the figure collecting community!)
It's a 50/50.

I like quite a few of the figures from this range. I have some more on the way from the Good Doc as we speak.

I'm a sucker for 3.75" figures. I don't know why....they just appeal to me.

Well the main factor is the price but if you shop around a little you can easily find them for $16-17 at retailers.
Considering they sell stuff like Spider-Man Origins/WWE etc for the same price if not more, I like to think I am paying for detail, not size and a lot of figures that are sold at retailers simply just look bad and out of proportion.
Okay, the X-Men Origins: Wolverine figures were not that great, the Weapon X figure looked a little bit strange but the Maverick one was awesome! Like I said it's a 50/50.
The new waves of Marvel Universe look REALLY good. Iron Patriot, Colossus, Juggernaut all look fantastic and in my opinion look better than their Marvel Legends counterparts.
But hey, these figures aren't for everyone.
Who will be able to resist that Galctus masterworks figure?!

Well I would get 3 out of this wave. I only get this scale if I dont have the character already in ML. I would get Havok, Mystique & ghost rider.

I too have decided to grab these for characters that Hasblo will never make in 6 inch scale. So my question is - I want to swap heads on the Ms Marvel figures to make a Dark Reign Moonstone Marvel figure. Artistix, do the heads pop off easy enough?

Is there any site out there that has in depth information on the Marvel Universe figures?

I used to go to comicfigs but that site got hacked and is now gone. Is there another site that is similar?

Post by Sam on Wed May 11, 2011 9:03 am

i have completly resisted this sized marvel figures due to the investment made in the six inch. I guess Im kinda like granpa not wanting a mobile phone cuz the house phone 'should be enough' But everytime i see new figures, I lament that there is such a wide variety of figures out for it...

sigh.

I still will resist but I do appreciate the roster of characters given. If they were cheaper I probably would have caved in!
