Don't hold your breath for an Australian release of ML. When I spoke to Hasbro at this year's Toyfair, they had NO IDEA that ML were even returning for 2012! Sad

Lol, ok doke mate, I will ;-) Mind you its easier to be strong when your visa says its 500 overdrawn LOL.

Once the dungeon is complete downstairs I will probably sell off any doubles of the 6 inchers as well ,I think I have some sets of Sentinal wave, a monkey man set, etc etc that probably wont get to see the light of day, so I 'll just keep my loose ones when I can display them. then there will be no desire to have little ones... hopefully....

Cant recall who the new ones are? It was hard enough trying to get the last set of 2 packs for a semi decent price.

I had a whole bunch of ML's but I just boxed them up and forgot all about them. MU is for me now but it seems like they are drying up here.

Does anyone know if stores here will be restocking MU? I haven't seen a new series since the Thor/Luke Cage wave which hit last year

I received an email from Hasbro a couple of weeks ago confirming what the Good doc had said and that is they will not be continuing with MU in Australia. I have kept my collection going from the Big Bad Toy Store and with the Aussie dollar being what it is I buy a whole case take out my own and list the extras on Ebay for less than you could get them at retail here anyway. The assortment I got last week had Cable, the Gladiator, 1st appearance Wolverine, Jim Lee costume Cyclops and a great Apocalypse. They are probably 2 or 3 series in front of the last ones seen here at retail. Check them out. Smile

I have also been keeping up with my collection by ordering full waves from BBTS or just singles from ebay.

I recently got in my PoL and for the first time ever I actually got the variants instead of the regular versions of Archangel and Havok. Normally this would have been great but I had already purchased them months ago from ebay. I thought it wouldn't be a problem because I had never received variants from BBTS before and the only time I wanted the regulars I get the variants.

Yeah - overseas seems to be the only way to go.

I have also found smalljoes.com & brianstoys.com (BBTS had sold out by the time I got around to ordering) have assortments also.

My Cable arrived Wednesday (from Brian's Toys). Great figures. Recent comic packs arrive from BBTS (hopefully on Monday).

Will we be getting the Captain America movie figs?

I tend to think we will but there doesn't seem to be that much room on the shelves for action figures any more. I think GI Joe RoC and Thor movie figures have soured the retailers. There doesn't even seem to be many Thor or Green Lantern movie figures on the shelves.

I just need the Cap figures to get to the second wave so I can get Crossbones and US Agent. I will probably get the movie Red Skull unless one is coming in the comic series

Word I got from Hasbro was Cap figures series 1 in July. Like Thor they have indicated that only the first series will be available here at retail. Big bad toy store have series 1 (I didn't order) and series 2 just arrived in their warehouse and is about to be shipped to me. That assortment has 7 figures with Crossbones, Red Skull, USAgent, Captain Britain (new colors) being among them. Smile

I know you did as I stated in my post on the 12th May. TheFallen must have missed it. Main point is it's disappointing to have to go overseas to continue a collection rather than support the local retail. Have you considered bringing them in yourself Doc from a source like BBTS and selling them on to collectors here who don't want to risk dealing overseas or are shipping costs etc. not worth the time and effort?

Re: Marvel 3 3/4" new loose and carded images

Post by TheGoodDr on Sun May 15, 2011 3:34 pm

TBH, the only think I've considered as of late is to stop selling toys altogether. There's no real point in me importing figures from places like BBTS or EE as everyday Joe Blow can get them from these very suppliers for the same price. If I order 'big' to get a discount I end up getting slugged GST by Customs so any advantage that I get for buying in bulk is quickly eroded and once again, there's no real point in importing toys for the purpose of making a profit when they can be sourced directly by the very people I hope to sell them to for the same price I'm buying them for.

If you missed my 'rant' in the Thor thread (Last movie you watched) take a gander and you'll see what my feelings are on the whole action figure industry as such.

Whilst I've enjoyed selling toys for many years now, the industry here in this country is literally in its death throes and having gotten myself a promotion at work in the last couple of weeks, it may be time to finally divert my attention to my day-time career instead of the "hobby" that has consumed me for many, many years Smile

I saw your 12th May post but it said MU so I thought the movie lines would be seperate.

I know your in Adelaide also so can I buy Crossbones, Red Skull and US Agent from you and pick them up?

No worries, I had to order the set of 7 again as individually the Skull and Crossbones have sold out. Once its added to 'My Pile of Loot' it will all ship together. Allow 2 weeks to arrive, then you can either come over or catch up at Toy Fair (easy to spot as there aren't many of us that do the Marvel Super Hero stuff). Smile Smile

I have to agree with TheGoodDr, the local retail market is in a terrible state.

My local Target, TRU and KMart don't stock anything above the 5yo age range. The pegs are saturated with cheap plasticy crap that shoud be filling tubs in the waiting rooms of GPs, dentists etc. It breaks my heart to pass on sh*tty presents to my mate's kids knowing that I had better stuff when I was younger.

Even the crappiest Walmarts, K Marts and Targets in the US have more to offer. *sigh* TheGoodDr, we had some good times riding buses and trains intro strange suburbs and demographics LOL. Time to order some twinkies.

Target's on the gold coast are cleaned out of thor, its been a huge successm and I have no doubt that Captain will too Sad

Because the set is an exclusive OS and TRU AU would have been given the opportunity to buy as it exclusive.

I got my Cable w/Hope yesterday. It is a pretty decent figure considering the scale. I always felt that Cable should be more stocky though, he seems very slim. I guess that is a nod to his Dad Smile

A cool figure nonetheless and one of the better ones released in MU so far

My Captain America series 2 figures arrived today. Crossbones and USAgent are the stand-outs. The Red Skull doesn't quite look right to me (head too small perhaps).
The Fallen, don't know which side of town you live, you could come collect them or catch up at the Toy Fair on Saturday/Sunday. Let me know. Smile Smile Smile
