A prize for anyone who can figure this out (aka. eBay sucks)

Post by DroothR on Tue Sep 02, 2008 10:08 am

I'm trying to fill out a dispute on eBay, but I can't process it because eBay insists that I'm attempting to use "prohibited words" in my description (see screen-cap below).

Deadline for being able to file this dispute is days away, and I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is I'm supposed to change.

I've tried swapping out random words, and still I can't get past this point...

Mad

Anyone got any ideas?

I don't see anything there that would cause a problem - no HTML brackets etc. I'd just file the initial dispute description, i.e. the first paragraph, to get the ball rolling - I'm assuming that you can add to it once the dispute has been filed.

Did that, and tried to add the 2nd paragraph, but it insists that SOMETHING in that 2nd (and essential) paragraph is "prohibited".

Evil or Very Mad

< EDIT >

Ok, wrote out a new description from scratch, and it went through.

Neutral

Still no idea what I was doing wrong the first time...

maybe break it up a little more (the second paragraph). less commas more full stops.

maybe the problem will become more obvious.

All I could think of was they didn't like the word "reimburse" but I could be wrong...

who received - whore

Several months late.... I win a cookie....

(I also found my password)

Ebay has one of those sucky work checkers that regardless of putting spaces in the word or being 2 parts of a words or even part of a word it does not like it. (Had a similar problem with the word Specialist at work because it has cialis in it)

Oh yeah, I forgot to state that the "comp" was over. Embarassed

BUT, you do win my respect. Cool

So odd. Thanks for the input! I'll know what to look for in the future!
