I got the first trade of that and hated it. Felt it was too New York-centric and written with locals of that locale in mind. Manhattan in particular.

Just bought and read The Boys volume 4. Pretty funny! Also bought but haven't read yet...latest Punisher Max: Naked Kills and Swamp Thing volume 6.

well as quickly as it started the Franken-Castle punisher arc has finished...thankfully... just terrible, no matter how many fan letters you publish in the letter pages saying it's great it's still a massive stretch to power up one of the few powerless characters and not piss off a majority of the fans, especially when it's done at highspeed and with bad quality ugh.......

I dropped that book once they changed the title. I don't mind them trying to try to "horror up" a character, just do it as a stand alone issue or as a small collection of stories at the end .... something like Peter Porker Spider-Ham mmmm ham.

It seems that almost no one other than Ennis knows how to successfully use and write for The Punisher these days, or at least no one who actually has the desire to actually jump on the title and do so anyway. Feels like we're back in the 90's again when it was one bad story after another, and one silly idea after another. Very disappointing, as he's my favorite Marvel character...

I read the current run from Civil War, until they replaced Olivetti as artist with Chaykin.

I then jumped back on at Dark Reign but lasted only the first TPB - dropped it after reading the second.

Picked up the Dark Reign: The List TPB which had the Punisher: The List included and figured that was a logical jumping off point.

Bruce Wayne the Road Home one shots, but they have come out before the ending of The Return of Bruce Wayne so it's a bit confusing, although that's expected with Morrison involved I guess Wink

Highly recommended! Very fucking cool!Twisted Evil

I haven't seen the movie based on the comic but the trailers and shorts I've seen seem NOTHING like it.

I am currently reading city of glass.
Not bad but not very original but its moving along at a good pace so I would say I am enjoying it.

Not yet...I wanted to finish the books.
finished the book this afternoon on the way home.

I loved the Dark Tower books. And the comics are great, but they are insanely bleak.

I am not too sure if I want to read them...I have just too clear a picture of the characters in my mind that the images I have seen of the comics on the web tonight don't interest me.

As in new proper book or new comic book? I know the comic book series is meant to fill in all the time up until the 1st book.
If proper book I wonder where the timeline fits in?

I would really like to learn more about how "the world moved on" and the world before, I hope the new book talks a bit about this.
I always thought that the actor who played Aragorn would be a good Roland.

I'm a couple months behind on the floppies - I think I have 3 months worth of stuff waiting for me at my LCS. Recently finished "Nemesis" and "Criminal: Lawless" (both TPBs) and picked up the first TPB of Northlander and 100 Bullets.

As far as books go, recently finished Jim Butcher's "Fool Moon" (the second book of the Dresden Files) and moved onto Dumas' "The Man in the Iron Mask".

Just finishing A Clash of Kings, book two of A Song of Ice & Fire Saga (aka Game of Thrones)...and it keeps getting better. Three more books on the list...plus two more pending release.
A Storm of Swords - August 2000
A Feast for Crows - October 2005
A Dance with Dragons - July 2011
The Winds of Winter (Forthcoming)
A Dream of Spring (Forthcoming)

So there is few more weeks of good reading...and enough time to forget them before Season 2 hits the Bit Torrent.
