Just read Xmen: Ghost Box last night. Not bad. Dialogue seems a little forced and trying hard to be 'cool' and I feel the artwork doesn't suit the style of story. The end was a little confusing also.
2 1/2 stars out of 5.

Went to Phantom zone yesterday and I didnt have any new comics awaiting me so bought Essential X-factor V1 to fill the void. Just started reading the first part with the discovery of Jean Grey. This volume also includes the Apocalypse saga. Looking forward to it!

Nice!

I just grabbed and consumed Conan Volume 6: The Hand of Nergal and Volume 7: Cimmeria of the newest series. Fucking awesome!
Also nabbed and read Hellblazer: The Laughing Magician and Hellblazer: The Roots of Coincidence. Great reads.

Yeah the Dark Horse Conan series has kicked much ass, been reading that one since it started, good stuff, along with being, in my opinion anyhow, the best adaptations of R.E. Howard's original stories yet done. And I say this as someone who grew up with the Roy Thomas Marvel Conan stuff.

Finding myself falling further and further behind in Marvel comics and realising that it's not really bothering me at all. I think I'm in one of those "disconnected" periods with comics, in that i'm vaguely interested in what's happening but I get all I need to know from news sites without finding myself engaged by the material.

Maybe I've just been reading comics for so long (20 years+) that I'm struggling to feel that anything's really new and fresh.

Reading Garth Ennis's 'The Boys'. It doesn't outpreach Preacher but it is pretty enjoyable. Also picked up fist tpb of 'DMZ'. Another decent series.

There are programs that read cbr and cbz files on the ipad...it's the only reason I can think of for getting one.

that is so rad, i wasn't going to get an ipad but that may change my reasoning, i would have thought apple would keep apps like that off the market, hopefully they don't ban it

Just read Ultimate Comics: Wolverine vs Hulk.
Best match up I've ever seen these guys have. Awesome pic of Hulk surrounded by dozens and dozens of Asian babes in his harem.

Yeah I'm going through a bit of an extended break too, though for me it's not so much being sick of the books as it is just not having the time to read and catch up, a task which becomes bigger and bigger by the week as I fall further and further behind...

My current comic list is:
Nova
Guardians of the galaxy
Thanos imperative
Secret Av
New Av
Avengers
Ultimates
Ult Avengers
Ult Spidey

I am really enjoying the galactic titles, looking to drop all the Ultimate titles and I need to cut down the standard avengers.

The ultimate titles take too long to tell a story and these things are getting expensive. i will cut down and then order graphic novels from the states
