There's small things I'd change, but overall I think the film was just what it needed to be, and that I'm not even sure an Iron Man film COULD be 10/10 (a score which I have only ever bestowed on a single film).

Do note that my 8/10 is objectively speaking (as is the case with all of my "reviews").

Subjectively I'd say 9/10. I loved it. Gonna see it again. Cool

Finally saw today and thought it was great, good use of humour throughout, and I actually liked gwyneth paltrow....which is rare I usually can't stand her....Rhodey put on the damn armour already!!!...and who doesn't like a pole dance on their private jet?...my only complaint was too much stuff shown in the previews (discussed elsewhere).....and the Hulk preview shown.... I'm not too confident with that one....(please prove me wrong)

Post by UncleCletusKasady on Sat May 10, 2008 12:42 pm

After dodging as much news, adverts and this thread i finally got to see it today, I had very high expectations after all the various trailers and snippets i have seen and i have to say i was as far from being disapointed as any man could be!
Big call coming, IMO best marvel.. nay best comic based movie i have seen to date.
Loved all the little comic fan refs (the terroist group being called the ten rings, the various poses IM struck and lets not forget who we saw after the credits)
I was like a 13 year old fanboy watching it even my wife loved it and suggested going right back in to see it again after it was finished.
Cannot stress enough how much i enjoyed it im still all jangly now and it's been 2 hours Laughing
Rhodey's line of "next time" almost made me have a man wee.
Hanging for the extended disc version for all the deleted scenes etc..

Saw it this afternoon and really enjoyed it - it's up there with Batman Begins. I've been reading through the early Iron Man issues (via the Essentials line) and I thought the movie did a damn good job of honouring the source material - there are some things in the movie that are a tad more modern, plus they don't mention transisters as much. Hopefully the sequel features more of Rhodes, Pepper and Happy and bring on the Foom!

I'd give it an 8/10 since there's always room for improvement!

BTW, since when did cinemas bring in the seat reservation crap - it's been ages since I've watched anything on the big screen.

Haven't seen a movie at the cinema since Spider-Man 3 and WA is slow. I prefer the old school way of getting down early and lining up, plus you don't have issues with $hit heads trying to pinch your seat - which someone tried on me this afternoon. I know they've got the system in Malaysia and it's never bothered me much there.

I know Greater Union have it at Galleria....when you book online you can reserve seats....obviously it's a way to promote people using the ATM things to get their tickets= less staff to hire etc.... but anytime you go to a movie near release all I've seen it do is cause problems as maybe 5 different people do it (in a cinema of 400 seats) then cause an arguement with who ever is in their seat

That's what happened this afternoon. Two young fellas basically seat hopped around about 3 times before heading to my row and trying to tell me I was in the wrong seat - they phrased their request for me to move so nicely "Can you move, you're in our seat". Anyways after I asked to compare tickets, I had to wait as they needed to dig through their pockets to find them, we sorted out the issue - the poor kids misread their row A for my row P Rolling Eyes yeah good one chief.

I really like the seat booking, we have a group of around 7 that go to all major movie releases and we get the same seats each time, never had an argument, never had anyone even ask us about the seating arrangements!
