Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
Well, as any good Star Wars fan should have known, Hasbro ran a promotion recently where if you filled out a questionnaire about your collecting habits, they'd send you a Captain Rex figure
This is the same figure they're doing the mail-away for in the US, only they had to purchase figures to get it.
Anywho, I went a bit nuts on the photos but you'll get over it I'm sure
First of all, the bonus poster that came with it;

Obligatory mail-away white box;

And herrrrrrrrres Rex!

The back of the card had a fold out display bit;

So I'm still in two minds about opening him, but I think I will

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
aawesome sweetest!
I've been thinking about picking this figure up, soft spot for the troopers. Might get him tomorrow on my lunch break.
What's with the boxes with the 1st day of issue stickers on them? Seen a buttload of them the other day at K-mart.
Anyhoo, nice pics!

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
What's the difference TST with this Rex and the regular carded Rex? I can see he doesn't come with the 'rocket firing' attachment for his rifle.......any differences with the figure itself?
MAN, the 1st Day of Issue figs are just a gimmick really for die-hard collectors. The card back is different (the Star Wars logo being all pretty and shiney) and the obvious sticker on the blister itself. The figures were packed across a couple of different assortments (each asst contained 4 1st Day of Issue figures.....the other 8 figs being the usual standard carded versions). Essentially this meant to get all the 1st Day of Issue figures, you'd had to go to a few different places to get the whole lot. This is, what you may find at K-Mart are generally different to those found at BIG W, Target, etc (hope what I'm saying here makes sense/reads properly).

The mailaway Captain Rex has clean armour and the foldout cardback display. The regular Captain Rex has dirty 'carbon scoring' armour and the missile launcher.

Well, I know I sent it out the day I found out about it. So pretty much within a day or two of the news hitting mousedroid.com.

Well, as already mentioned, he's a clean paint app and doesn't come with the rocket. He only comes with the smaller clone blaster as opposed to the larger one available...
I'm sure you can work out the differences with this here linked pic!

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
Promotion ended last week as I was advised all that we had received a massive amount of redemptions ie more redemptions than Rex's. But there will be a few more Rex figures (plus other goodies) available on the site where you got the redemption form.

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
Inspired me to pick up Rexy boy before my shift ended. Scored a 1st day of issue at Target for $12.99. I think there's a percentage sale on Star Wars figures tomorrow.

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
I'm now thinking of getting a bunch of the regular clones for display. Maybe a couple of commanders with 3-5 regular clones each. That'd look good

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
$10.49!!! Wow, that's below cost! I can't compete with that, that's for sure
My Capt Rex figure turned up yesterday. Strange to have had this as an exclusive figure......seeing as he (the character) is part of the regular line (be it this version is 'clean', still an odd figure to have produced). Then again, not as strange as the Holo Grievous figure that TRU got lumped with. Apart from a 3 second view of his back in the movie, why even slug collectors with a version of Grievous not even seen in the film???
Just got a call from a work collegue.....second Rex has arrived

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
Not that I didn't know that they weren't coming already......but I did have to print off that form my figs!
Didn't take that long for the 500 Rex figures to go did it?
I wonder if Commander Fox will be exclusive to Target here as well. Hate to pay $30.00 for it to then find out here that it's been scheduled to come here all along......
Haven't seen any mention of Fox on your site???

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
All the other major online retailers here in australia have it for sale right now. If Target are getting it they better hurry as the movie month is almost over...or maybe they are holding to for the TV release? Who knowsTheGoodDr wrote:Haven't seen any mention of Fox on your site???

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
Surely you must know that Fox is coming via Hasbro AU (and when)....??? To not say anything on the site just seems odd that's all.
And I was right huh? The 500 Rexs went pretty quick (well the nearly 500 that were given away via the promo.....)

Re: Hasbro Mail-Away Captain Rex Figure
Close but no cigar, Monica. Have you seen Cmdr Fox at Target locally? or even the 501st trooper at say Big W? Seems strange that they have not get stock of these exclusives in the month the movie is released. I wouldn't dream of telling people what 'might be coming' until i get confirmation it has shipped. That is not to say they won't come...you just never know. PM me if you want to discuss rumors in future.
