Toyguru responds to some of the concerns:

*****

Guys (and gals),

90% of the time the PR shot you see of a figure is from the early review samples Bill and I get to review. Obviously Adora will have great eyes. Remember how He-Ro's PR image had odd eyes? Did his final figure? No. (I hope!, mine didn;t!)

We get a few samples in early, review them, and give comments back to the painters in Asia to fix little things. Bill in particular is one of the best designers around and he is spot on with details no one else thinks of. Every MOTU figure is painted by hand in Asia. No two will ever be 100% the same, but we strive for the best for our collector community.

Also, not sure where in the world this He-Ro's staff and Adora's sword rumor came from, but to clarify, the Stone of Protection is not a Spell Stone as used by He-Ro in his staff. You'll learn more about both in the future, but they are not at all the same thing. Figure better to stop this one before we're held responsible for not living up to it!

Adora is looking pretty damn mongoloid there, if you ask me. I hope the final figure doesn't look like that, but I don't exactly trust anything 'Toyguru' has to say about anything these days, so we'll see I guess...

Adora's looking pretty trashed. One tequila, two tequila, three tequila - FLOOR! Adora must be drowning her sorrows since Bow rejected her sexual advances in favour of shagging her brother. If she had got rid of the granny panties, she might have had a chance.

I was nicer in my comments at the he-man.org forums, but damn they made Adora UGLY!!!

Hopefully the final figure will turn out nice. Still want Adora either way.

Cheers.

Every public statement he makes he makes up then it usually bites him on the ass, eg he said all sub teela figs got shipped first then said going forward all sub fogs will be shipped first, then doesn't mention his first statement......

And the nonsense about the "flocked" Panthor.

Toy Guru said the "majority" of fans voted for a non-flocked Panthor at SDCC, yet most posters who said they were at SDCC said the "flocked" Panthor option clearly got the biggest response from the fans (although the whole idea of allowing a very select number of fans to vote on somewhat important elements of the MOTUC line seems incredibly disrespectful to ALL fans to me).

And the stuff about Webstor's back-pack. Toy Guru said it would work exactly like the original toy. It doesn't and Toy Guru turned around and blamed the fans for misinterpreting him, when his post clearly said it would work like the original toy.

And probably many other instances.

Cheers.

Ah, I see I see...

Well that's unfortunate. It would be nice if people could stick by their word.

I thought they couldn't flock something like that because of all the added articulation? I guess the spot flocking may have worked. Is that what they decided for Moss-Man?

It wasn't till yesterday that I finally took Webstor down off the shelf & tried the back pack dealy. We didn't have Webstor in my household growing up so I wasn't really expecting anything there. I gather with the original version he actually climed the rope himself without our help?

The other angle of the Adora pic looks nicer than the front on:

I can't wait to see the pic of Battle Cats packaging!

Xena is right and i saw the video footage from the panal where every one cheered for flocked panthor.I thought it was odd when he went on the org and said every one voted non flocked.what a wankster, i was keen on the flocked panthor now we are gtting a shaved purple cat ''sigh''.

On moss man i still dont get why they are doing spot flocking when all they had to do was have no flock where joints move which is a very limited surface of the whole figure, but what ever makes mattel happy and pisses us off.

Nothing yet. Webstor arrived like a day or so before Teela was made available.

Teela shipped later than Webstor (he shipped a day after release).

Hopefully SOON. I have 3 packages awaiting arrival...

Personally, I'm hoping for 'toon/comic colours, with 80's figure deco as a later "bonus" variant.

Yeah, I just dislike the yellow-skinned look, and would rather NOT have a figure that I don't want in my subscription. silent

But you're right, likelihood is yellow skin.

If so, I'll be looking to offload my yellow Lyn as soon as a comic-deco one is revealed.

Hey Mahz, I ordered two with the cheap postage. Once they arrive in a couple of weeks you're welcome to one of them. And since you're in Bris we can probably do it without Auspost...
