AFL footy thread

Post by simmo on Sun Jul 27, 2008 9:13 am

I know the seasons coming towards the closing stages, but the hell with it. There's a few of us here who follow it.

Watching Port vs Freo right now, and can't believe Chris Tarrant still gets a game every week. He misses goals from ten metres out, yet Murphy can kick em with a fair amount of ease. We're such a shitty backwards team.

Did you see the angle he approached that short shot at goal with.... no wonder he missed.....For some reason at Freo when they bring across a name player ie Croad/Tarrant they seem to immediately drop their usual standard....the problem comes out on the field as well as financially as their worth drops so much in the couple of years here that we have them that when we trade again to get rid of them they are worth so much less than what we paid for them (picks wise)

funny no Pavlich and there are 15 individual goal kickers in the team

Man anyone claiming that the Eagles didn't tank yesterday is probably saying that they didn't know that there was a drug culture there earlier too.....the name Worsfold comes to mind..... Now I know why teams would do it and why not? the incentive is there....it's no different to rushing behinds until the clock runs out.. but to play innocent really is a bit rich in this world of media coaching. the amount of blind shots on goal, a sudden rise in the areas of kicking long and turnovers....it's as obvious as most intentional out of bounds
