Stan Winston RIP

Post by Octane on Tue Jun 17, 2008 1:39 am

We marveled at his monster creations for over 30 years. Be it dinosaurs, robots, monsters or aliens. He and his company did effects the way they should be and not relying heavly on CGI that has become the standard. We remember his Stan Winston Creatures toys. But he will be remembered mostly for his epic work on Terminator series, Jurassic Park series, Edward Sissorhands, Predator series, Pumkinhead series, AI, Titanic and Ironman. He is sadly missed passing away from cancer at the age of 62.

You know, I only found out about his "health problems" yesterday...

No

His influence on my life is immeasurable.

Absolutely no words can express how I feel. Sad

He will be missed, and I do hope that his legacy will not be forgotten.

Like a Star @ heaven AICN Gives Tribute To STAN WINSTON

A very good read, with comments from many of Stan's best friends, and greatest collaborators.

On a more personal note, yesterday I received an email from SSC, telling me that they had acquired me one of the sold out Exclusive Predator dioramas. silent

The timing of this is messing with my head... No
