Supernova

Post by Jor-El on Wed Jun 11, 2008 12:24 pm

With Supernova coming to Perth for the first time, I thought I'd gauge what the eastern states think of the event.

What can we expect if we go, despite no Claire from Heroes? Sad

Well, its ok, nothing spectacular, and depends on what stores you have as to who will have stalls there, usually in Sydney its Kings comics, kotokinya book store, some anime stores, dee's comics from canberra, sportscards, and until last year cf had the weekend flog off, but were a no show last year.....

well, i went to the melbourne one earlier this year and loved it. plenty of 50c comics and artists doing signings and sketches.

well worth a look at the very least. For me it really depends on what comic talent are going.

Having never gone to something like this before I'm going to the perth one...not really interested in any of the celebs who are coming over ....love Punisher but not a huge fan of Chaykin's art in it but will probably see what he's doing....there's also an art competition so thinking I might do something up to enter that in the next week or so.

Dunno if I'm gonna go to this. I really want to go sometime, and I think I'm going to be in Sydney next weekend, but it depends on what I'm doing. So yeah, we'll see what happens.

Perthites, apparently there will be no Claire for us, instead we get extra helpings of Jared Palecki, whose name I cannot spell. I'm very intrigued by the event, but I can't bring myself to pay the money to go - what are the Perth people going to see, specifically?

Looks like Jared won't be appearing at Perth Supanova. Shame for fans of both Hayden and Jared who've been gipped twice now.

Well I went Sunday, it was certainly an experience. I only bought Essential X-men #7. I didnt have the foresight to make a back issue or TPB list as there were plenty of stores to look around.
My wife was happy as she got 1 metre away from Supernatural Sam by sitting down in the restricted area and pretending to bottle feed the baby. The staff didnt have the heart to ask her to move, very cunning. He exited right by us.

He seems like a really nice guy and he handled the Q&A very well. One girl asked for a hug, he said sure, ran into the crowd and gave her one, hug that is Very Happy

Well actually had time to make it to the Docker's game and left pissed off again.....Supernova was interesting....I don't really know what i was expecting but after a couple of hours I was ready to leave.....For some reason I was expecting more stuff to be cheap...... picked up Walking Dead Trade# 8 for $19 and my mate got a few dvd's but that's about it. Caught the Ben Templesmith seminar....where he said he couldn't really reveal much about the Dead Space game.....possibly shouldn't have been advertised as such then....but he's generally a pretty funny guy. It was good to see each of the different Perth Based fan groups/comic publishers to atleast know what's out there but shopping wise I still hit ebay for the prices....caught a look at MGS4....wow I really need a plasma & PS3
