The ACCC has blocked it but I am sure Ebay will come back with something. What Ebay Wants Ebay usually gets.

Not that it really matters because Ebay has been slowly destroying itself and alienating its customers for quite some time now. If Sensis (Telstra) actually works with the Trading Post and makes a better looking Auction system than what is slapped together there I feel it be all over for Ebay in Australia. Trading Post has the brand name recignition to kill ebay and with all the stupitidy reciently people want to jump to somewhere else just to get away locally from Ebay, only problem the next biggest somewhere else in Australia is terrible IMO.

The second biggest Auction site Oztion will still bumble along only gaining it title of Second biggest thru sheer luck and Ebays stupidity. (Reciently it changed hands to another Mobile Service Carrier for 2Mil, Jumbuck Entertainment. Who I think have other uses for the site that are not quite disclosed.) Oztion is deffinitly a distance second and unfortunitly does not cater for the whole toys collector/figure collector well. It very seller heavy, no name recignition, no advertising, the forums are enough to turn people right off.

I think if we end up with another competitor to ebay things are going to get very interesting very quickly. Especially with names you mentioned, Octane - they're not exactly out to make a quick buck by inventing a site to sell off to ebay.

ebay will always have a massive amount of items listed. and most of the things that i buy on ebay are because they are not available in australia. any local site would be redundant for me in the regard of collectables anyway.

I prefer to use Oztion whenever possible.

Australia's main competition to eBay.
