Surprised the NYCC boxset is limited to only 500. Reading from the provided link it's basically the single figures and accessories, removed from their packaging put into a box and a sticker is whacked on.

*** Edit - May! Better place a preorder ASAP!

Is this line based on the original comic or will they be introducing characters from the cartoon - I would really love updated Bebop and Rocksteady figures.

it's based on the original comic, but I read somewhere that the licence was broad enough to do cartoon style headbands. not sure how it relates to other characters from the tv show though...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Identity Crisis

Post by reillyd on Thu Mar 27, 2008 2:39 pm

I haven't followed turtles since the last movie, but have noticed some new doublepacks on toyshelves, so I was thinking of getting back in on it. But I received an email today from casefresh, plugging their turtle line, and to my horror saw Raphel had killed and murdered his brothers, then cloned himself to replace them!
affraid

Can anyone clue me in as to what happened? Did they all decide to "GO RED" with their bandannas or something?

These figures are based on the original 1984 comic series.

Originally, they all wore red bandanas
On December 14, 1987, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' first cartoon series began, starting as a 5-part miniseries and becoming a regular Saturday morning syndicated series on October 1, 1988 with 13 more episodes. The series was produced by Murakami-Wolf-Swenson Film Productions Inc. Mirage Studios does not own the rights to this cartoon series. Here, the Ninja Turtles are portrayed as four wise-cracking, pizza-obsessed superheroes who fight the forces of evil from their sewer hideout, and make their first appearance in masks color-coded to each turtle, where previously they had all worn red.
Like a Star @ heaven http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles

When the animated series was born, the producers suggested that children needed to be able to tell each turtle apart more easily, thus they were then assigned individually coloured banadanas for the cartoon, and it stuck.

P.S. See the NECA TMNT thread on this board. Cool
