Transformers Animated Line

Post by reillyd on Thu May 29, 2008 6:34 pm

Transformers Animated has started appearing all around Australia at independent toy stores (eg Toyworld, Toy Kingdom, etc), with deluxes, voyagers and a 2 pack Optimus Prime/Megatron released. The hunt for Bumblebee is on!

I saw the full range of deluxes and voyagers on the Gold Coast at Toyworld Southport, and Titans Tower Southport. Titans also had the 2 pack, which either cleared out at toyworld or hasn't been put on the shelf.

Toys R Us Pacific Fair Gold Coast has transformers animated Voyagers for 39.99 (looks like 8 starscreams 8 bulkheads and maybe three or four megs), and deluxes for 24.99 (a few prowl left, a few bumbles and lockjaws, and one optimus).

So I'd say that we'll be seeing them EVERYWHERE at mass retail, in sufficient quantities for everyone to score (collectors and kids alike)

Found the deluxe figures at Target Watergardens. Also 5 or so MASTERPIECE CONVOYS for $199. Does optimus prime come with that trailer? Or is it just the trailer? He's pictured on the box.

Yes he comes with a real trailer, and not the paper one with MP01. I suspect he'll be a little cheaper at sale though, which starts in July

is the show any good for that matter?

The show is better than the toys. There's lots of reports of breaks and loose joints, and sometimes hard to get ball joints reattached.

The toys are some of the slickest Transformers ever made IMO. I guess if you are hardcore style wise will be tough to get over aniamted style, but these are some of the best articulated transformers ever.

TO get a feel for how they are I would recommend picking up Prowl, as reilly said there is the concern about loose leg ball joints on him, but Jin Satome has put up instructions for fixes. The next would be starscream then Lockdown. Don;t have cybertron mode Prime but Sam says its quite good, and Bumble bee I like a lot but has lots of kibble.

Only problem I am still figring out is Ratchets upper torso not locking in place, so might be worth waiitng for that to be fixed...if it ever is.

These do look cool. I just dont get one thing. Why do certain figures come in various sizes? e.g. two sizes of Optimus? did he grow when they land on Earth or is this just a "2nd line" of figures as you would buy a 12" in other lines?

Yea its like that..very stupid they should make deluxe for smaller to medium characters and voyger for larger characters and leader for real big characters but they justy mix it all over the place.

Thanks, that what I thought. It just makes it hard for a novice like myself to collect these as I want to keep them as accurate to the cartoon as I can.
