I was gonna start a 2014/15 predictions thread (if anyone cared) but no need now if leaks are happening again.
Sweet Bee no surprise, nice enough fig.
NA She-Ra - meh. Ok I suppose.
Tung Lashor - very nice! Think he came out well.

Sweet Bee looks good. I would have preferred a more "serious" looking blaster, instead of the comically over-sized stinger, but it's great to see a unique accessory.

NA She-Ra is ... okay. I guess. I don't understand the inclusion of NA She-Ra in the 2014/2015 road map since I wouldn't consider her to be an A-List variant. NA She-Ra has only ever appeared in a recently released mini-comic which had a limited release. A toy-design She-Ra would have been preferred. Or a unique character like Granita or Hunga the Harpy.

Tung Lashor looks good. The slimmer body parts seem designed for Lizard Man. I'm not sure why they were used for Lashor though. I didn't have his vintage figure, but perhaps he was always slimmer?

The tongue is based on his 200x staction look.

He's a Snake Man hence the symbol on his chest but in the Filmation cartoon they made him a Horder member, hence the armband.

I'm hoping it's just these pictures. Especially for Sweet Bee. The figure does look a little "soft", although it's very much the Filmation look which they've always gone for with PoP. It's also possible that some figures, like Sweet Bee, were sculpted before PoP (and MOTU) fans started asking for more sculpted detail (particularly drawn from the original toys) in the PoP figures to help them to integrate/blend with the MOTU figures.

More pics up: http://news.toyark.com/2014/07/25/sdcc-2014-mattel-motu-post-panel-case-pics-131995

Looks like... the schedule is CLUB ETERNIA:
Aug: Flutterina; New Adventures Skeletor
Sep: Rio-Blast
Oct: Eldor
Nov: Tung Lashor
Nov Quarterly: Arrow (Bow's horse)
Holiday Item (Nov): Gwildor
Dec: Mermista
Jan: Lizard Man
Feb: Ninjor
Feb Quarterly: Snake Armour He-Man vs 200X King Hisss 2 pack
Mar: Huntara
Excl: Oo-lar (barbarian He-Man)

CLUB ETHERIA
Aug: Madam Razz
Sep: Entrapta
Oct: Sweet Bee; Light Hope
Nov: New Adventures She-Ra
Dec: Spinarella

Then there's the Dec out of sub bonus item ($110): Battle-Ram with helmetless Man-At-Arms
And the 2014 Travelling Con excl: Skeletor's Hover Robots

Kind of underwhelming. No wonder they've threatened limited subs. Razz

On the plus side, I'm actually really impressed with Gwildor. Never thought I'd say that. >_<

Although November with 3 items plus the Club Etheria is gonna bite. Razz

Re: SDCC reveals

Post by fuzzcat on Sat Jul 26, 2014 5:47 am

Going through rest of year/next year so far:

Oct:  Light Hope looks great, as does Eldor.  Sweet Bee needs something done to the face - I'm feeling she'll look too out of place with other PoP figures.  Matty presentation said Battle Ram in Oct, not Dec - either way I'm getting one.  I believe Sky High was in Sep/Oct last year as well?

Nov:  Not a fan of NA She-Ra - would've rather seen a Filmation character like Hunga.  Tung Lashor is very cool  - like how he's turned out.  Arrow - meh.  Whatever.  The champion though is Gwildor - very film accurate and love the accessories.

Dec:  Seems a little redundant to double up on PoP - Spinnerella looks weird to me, Mermista is the better of the two.

Jan - LIZARD MAN!!!!!!!!!!!  Loved this character as a kid, so glad to finally get this figure.

Feb:  Ninjor is a must have and he's done well.  Not sure on the 2 pack - I like the 200X Hsss but the He-Man looks off for some reason - the hair maybe?  Didn't get any 200X variants in the day, so this one doesn't make me want to get it.

Mar:  Huntara we knew was coming - she's nice enough I guess, don't remember her episode from the cartoon.  I'm also guessing Oo-Larr is in March too - what a crap looking figure.  I can think of half a dozen characters that would be better for a sub figure - I always say this figure should be a hook, something you would be pissed to miss out on if you didn't sub (like Shadow Weaver).

Hover Robots - awesome, will be trying to get at least 2.

Wing must be for Angella - if the rumoured 200X mini-sub comes about, Veena would slot in there (along with Calix, Evilseed, Prahvus.... who else?  Captain Randor?  King Miro?)

So... with 3 slots revealed, 1 other guaranteed (Mara) - it'll be interesting to see how the remaining 'guaranteed' figures will be put out - I would almost expect a 'Vintage Variants' mini-sub with Flying Fists He-Man, Terror Claw Skeletor, Laser He-Man, Laser Skeletor, Buzzsaw Hordak and...... they could maybe sneak in a Snake Teela or Mekaneck (technically not vintage, I know).

I appreciate there's little to no love left for MOTUC on here - but I'm probably still going to gush about it.

Smile

Re: SDCC reveals

Post by Xenaphobia on Sat Jul 26, 2014 7:01 am

I'm liking the reveals of Mermista, Spinnerella and Huntara. Mermista, although she has some faults, is pretty incredible for a regularly priced figure.

I think Bow's horse (Arrow) was an incredibly poor choice for an A-List beast. If they had to re-use an existing buck, either Storm or Clawdeen should have been made. It would have given The Evil Horde a beast of their own.

I think the 200X two-pack looks good, but I don't understand its inclusion in 2015 when there are already a LOT of variants to be released (BS Hordak, LL He-Man, LP Skeletor, FF He-Man and TC Skeletor).

A much-desired army builder as a travelling convention exclusive seems bizarre. I don't understand the logic of that choice at all.

Looking forward to the future reveals of Angella, Peekablue and Perfuma (IF the 2015 subscription reaches its sale minimum).

I get the feeling they put the hover robots as the travelling con item so they can move multiples, rather than being lumped with a heap of Strobos and Goatmen. Razz
