Marvel 'Paperweights'

Post by TheSweetestThing on Wed May 21, 2008 4:15 pm

Anybody heard of/seen these before? Kings Comics had a bunch of Spidey ones on the weekend for about $28 each. As a really wicked looking Bust I picked one up...

Pics? Why, yes!

On the back of the card they had a Wolverine, Cap America and Symbiote Spidey. Liked all bar Cap, shame they didn't have any of the others or I would have bought more. Spidey measures about 4 inches without base.

Thoughts? Discussion?

Are these marketed as paperweights - what does the packaging say? Who makes them as I wouldn't mind chasing down some pics.

Ok so on the bottom it has the Marvel logo. Then underneath;
TM & (C) 2006 MARVEL.
This Paperweight is produced under MARVEL license.
Mfg by M.I.I. CHINA

So it's manufactured by M.I.I. - whoever they are...
But definitely marketed as a paperweight - I remember that on the packaging.

Sorry but in my lack-of-sleep induced state I threw away the packaging - otherwise I could have got more details.

I don't normally like busts (even though i own some) but this one looks quite nice. One thing i noticed about those pics, think maybe the camera needs to be held just a little bit straighter, it's just a touch off I think Surprised)
