Eaglemoss Star Trek die-cast starships collection

Post by awe on Wed Apr 02, 2014 3:03 am

So I know they aren't really figures but I thought some people might care, I spotted the first of these at the newsagency yesterday.

They had heaps. It's the Enterprise-D and is $4. Then in 2 weeks the Enterprise-A for $13 and subsequent issues at $20. Usually with these things they order heaps of the early ones and then they peter out. I maybe see one of the Batmobile ones on the shelf now.

They are pretty nice. I'll at least get the first two. I've always liked the Defiant as well, but being #9 I doubt I'll see it.

I love these types of series, I subscribe to the Batman Automobilia series and it's worth every dollar, 2 come in the mail each fortnight like clockwork. Bissett who distribute it are really good too, I've had a few batmobiles with cracked cases and they replaced them for free no questions asked.

Got the first starship and it's fantastic, for $4 you can't go wrong, the saucer section seems mostly diecast which gives it a fair bit of nice weight.

I'll be subscribing to this series for sure!

I should work out what schedule these things will come on. >_< I've only got the D (heh), TOS Ent and BoP so far.

Haha wow it sounds like we are on 3 different schedules, I just received issues 7 (Klingon K'Tinga-class battlecruiser) and 8 (U.S.S. Excelsior NCC-2000) with a letter saying Issue 6 (U.S.S. Voyager) was out of stock and they will send it later. Looks like you got lucky there awe!

Yeah, that happened to my brother as well. He's got the proper subscription with the bonus items etc.

I've only got a hold at my newsagents. They've probably gone and filled the newsagency orders first thinking that the subscription people could hold on a little longer until they get more stock.

Not really fair that subscriptions come off second best though is it?

I got the insert in issue 7 advertising the "Special" magazine for Deep Space Nine. It's going to be $50. It could be spectacular but... $50... I don't know. It's kind of a psychological barrier to me.

Did you subscribe recently Gev? It's weird I would have thought they ship extras to get you up to date.

Ahh yeah sounds like newsagents got first pick of the litter, bisset are pretty good at fulfilling orders though (but might take some time) so I'm not stressing too much yet! They have been really good with the Batmobiles, any issues I've had they've sent replacements no questions asked (although would be better to get them without issues).

Yeah I got a letter about DS9, apparently subscribers get it a bit cheaper at $45 i think

I subscribed in early May after picking up Issues 1 & 2 at my local newsagent. I started my subscription from Issue 3. I got my first delivery only the end of the week before last - just as I was about to follow up with them and was considering cancelling the whole thing.

They sent me the BoP and NX-01 together - and with the binder - so that qualifies as only one delivery it seems.

If you ring them up, their recorded message states something like 4 wks to process your subscription then the 2 wks to ship your order. I'll see if I get the next one (or more) this week.

I still would have liked these in relative scale, though.

Pretty recent sub, yeah. I'd tried ages ago, and the damn system spat the dummy at my card, but I decided to wait it out and see what happened (okay, I MAY have tried twice Razz ), and then suddenly I had it rock up, and I'm kinda glad I didn't keep trying... meanwhile, their support couldn't see the payment option, and had no idea what was going on. :/ Ah well.

I got the Warbird and NX-01 together... I think for subs, they bundle them?

DS9 is 45/50 bux? Ow. :/
