742 Evergreen Terrace Springfield - Lego Style !!!

Post by Blaster on Mon Jan 06, 2014 3:54 pm

Probably will end up as a lego exclusive so we will never see it in Oz but we can always hope.

Hopefully we will see the minifigures series on schedule in May...

I really want this set

Really looking forward to this set (and other Simpsons). I hope they get wide release here, maybe it will be like the Spongebob sets and be an exclusive?

And the back:

It looks so very awesome! But, I know that a Lego collection will need to wait until I win the Lotto. With so many awesome properties, if I broke down and purchased just one, then I'd never be able to stop myself from collecting them ALL.

I'm the same Xen, I'm so tempted by the Star Wars LEGO but I can see that leading me to a very empty wallet!

All Lego tempts me these days!!  Laughing

At first it was just Harry Potter. Then came Monster Fighters & the Minifigures series.

I actually put heaps of LOTR Lego on Lay-by when it first came out...but ended up taking it back before I opened it. Decided it was a bad path to go down!

The modulars are beyond awesome, but you would need to be rather wealthy to collect those.

The Simpsons Lego I freakin love & will be buying for sure. While many others from our generation seem to have soured on the Simpsons, I never have. I don't watch it much, but I still enjoy seeing the odd episode.

I love both the exterior & the interior of the house. I also love the opening dollhouse style, same as the Haunted House. It's cool that the car fits all the family...or 4 of them at least.

Ned is an odd inclusion over, say, Grandpa...but his BBQ is nice. I gather Santa's Little Helper & Snowball will be included with blind bag figures.

Hmmmm. The interior floor plan/room layout is less faithful to the somewhat confirmed interior floor plan on the cartoon than I thought.

But, it's still an impressive set. Although, where is Lisa's saxophone?

I would be kind of peeved if my kids both had larger bedrooms than I did and my bed took up the entire room! Wink

I think Maggie now sleeps in the same room as Homer and Marge! Although, how she sleeps with Homer's snoring is unknown.

I'd say they saved Lisa's sax as an accessory for the blind bag figure. Though I also hope she includes Snowball. Blind Bag Bart will have to include Santa's Little Helper. We'll probably received multiple sets with the main family members.

I don't mind the layout of the house. It would have been cool if they were a little more faithful, but it would have been difficult given the smaller size of the set as well as the dollhouse style opening.

The area's that they worked in are the main areas one would need for Simpsons play. Kitchen, loungeroom, garage, bathroom & a bedroom for everyone.

Surely Bart's Treehouse & Marge's car will be made.

The set will be $199US as is. I believe they don't like making the sets too expensive. I'm not sure if an expansion pack would ever be made, but that would be awesome. Something to go over the garage especially.

Homer, Marge and Bart all look stoned to me with those half-closed eye-lids!

$329 AUS vs $200 US is just ridiculous. And another good reason for why I can't even begin to collect Lego!

Man that hurts, not sure if I will be able to justify that! Almost worth going to the states and filling up a few suitcases with LEGO and bringing them back...

So anyone know where we can get this online in the states?
Surely the postage from the US will be cheaper then getting it here.
