Yeah Arkham City is lots of fun.

One of my mates was over when we played it and kept giving me grief because i wasnt going off on the side missions and just concentrating on the story.

Its a lot of fun.

Some @$$#*^= spoiled a major plot point of Gears of War 3 for me this week, so I've had to squeeze that in between my two jobs at the moment so I can play it without anymore spoilers.

Finished the Gears Of War trilogy.

Wasn't impressed with the first one, thought the 2nd was one of the most entertaining "rollercoaster" experiences (that Michael Bay wishes his films were like) I've had in gaming, and what impressed me most in 3 was the fantastic writing, and natural dialogue.

Overall, I was excited, at times really moved by the drama, and the multiplayer is top-notch.

In summation, two thumbs-up. Cool

Same I loved the 2nd one, but I do like the first 2 than the 3rd.I just wished that the major unexpected turning point would have not happened (driving a truck into """" to avoid spoilers.).I love series but I can't wait for the final of Mass Effect 3 and Assassins Creed: Revelations.

Even having that plot point in 3 spoiled before I had a chance to start playing it ( Evil or Very Mad ), I still found it to be the strongest moment in the game.

Rare is it to be emotionally affected by what happens to characters in a videogame, and that moment along with the end, and the similarly impactful moment in 2, are all the most moving sequences I've experienced in games.

I think the ending of The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker is the only other game I've played that has come close to having that kind of emotional impact (although that one was partially the unexpected shock of a Nintendo game employing that level of drama to begin with, much less how tragic the tone of said ending was).

I threw my controller away (I did not have anyone spoiled it), hoping XXX would make a comeback at the end and this is what I have felt at the end Sad . You should try the Mass Effect series you can make choices to who lives, returns or dies , from part 1 every decision carries over to part 2 to part3.

Ditto - I'm really disappointed by 3, especially after the amazing second game. I thought the ending was incredibly poor.

It's blockbuster season at the moment, and I have several reviews in the pipeline - getting through Uncharted 3 as fast as possible, then I have Saint's Row 3 to play as well as Goldeneye Reloaded and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. Last week was Battlefield 3, whose single player campaign is an affront.

Yeah, I've read lots of angry posts from people about that moment, but personally, I thought it was beautiful (in it's tragedy). I mean, we know the characters so well over 3 games, and the characters are so well written in the third game that that plot point really does have impact.

Even now, more than half a day after experiencing it, it still lingers with me. That's powerful stuff, and kudos to the developers for crafting something that was able to make me feel that way. cheers

Shocka wrote:I'm really disappointed by 3, especially after the amazing second game. I thought the ending was incredibly poor.
Actually, while I found 2 more entertaining, 3 has the better writing, dialogue, drama, and multiplayer, so I personally consider 2 & 3 to be on par. Both (IMO) spectacular games.

I got Mass Effect years ago, and have all of the DLC for 2 (in anticipation of having the time and money for it), but I just haven't had time to get to it yet.

I have a backlog of 189 unplayed games, and 70 games finished, but not beaten 100%.

Just got my last achievement in Dark Souls... did it in under a month, but man, think I was close to 200 hours into that sucker. Uhm, including pissfarting around and making an alt for a laugh.

Tossing up going to Space Marine multiplayer (level 38, 3 more to go) or trying to go through Castlevania: LoS. Also played a few hours of Skylanders with the kids (kinda fun, and made by Toys for Bob, who I've had a mancrush for since Star Control 2 and finding out Paul Reiche came up with Thri Kreen) and downloading the massive PS3 copy of DC online. I'm not a big DC fan, but eh, figured I'd try it.

... what, I've got 2 weeks off work. >_<
