My first day of work in two months...

Post by NiteOwl on Mon May 12, 2008 3:22 pm

Well as some of you know, I was sacked a little over two months ago for petty reasons that have now been finally resolved. I started my first day today as a public servant, the pay is low and the hours are long....but I couldn't be happier Very Happy

Thanks guys, yep you picked it Fieldy . Just another 3 weeks in the classroom to go before I do any real work. Jor the first week of the mega commute kills my soul a little bit at a time, the work is fun though and have met some really nice people.

Ah thats nothin' - my Dad's benn driving to Smithfield 5 days a week for 10 years (now working from home for 2 days) and while its usually about 1.5 hours it often gets to 2! Razz
But yes, commuting still does suck, like simmo said at least you can read or something, which is a bonus.

So have you adjusted to the new job yet Nitey? I'm actually looking at moving on from my current place of employment - been sneaking out for the odd interview here and there.

To tell you the truth Bolo, I am drowning. Coming from the private sector into the public service has been a real eye opener Shocked

Hasn't been my experience thus far, studying and commuting from the Coast each day is starting to take it's toll. Just having a bit of a whinge really, but the package that was presented to me via training and the interview process is in stark contrast of what actually happens.
