Final Crisis or Secret Invasion (no spoilers please)

Post by TheMyth on Sun May 11, 2008 6:21 am

For me, I'm more excited about Marvels event. The build up alone has me more excited about it than any other event I have read. The only problem may be that my expectations are too high.

On the other hand, I have very little expectation for Final Crisis. The DCU as almost slipped completely off my radar in recent months, only a few titles keeping me interested in their brand. I'm kinda hoping though that FC will blow me away and get me completely interested once again in the DCU. Grant Morrison is just too hit and miss with me though that I'm not sure.

When I got back into comics a few years back I read Identity crisis which was good then infinite crisis came along, lots of expectations but I didnt enjoy the whole Multiverse thing and I didnt like it. So I completely ignored Final crisis. DC have far too many cross over events and they dont deliver. Even 52 to me seemed to be a money making event.

I am predominantly a Marvel reader however I'm almost always in for the annual DC event; deliberately skipped over Our Worlds at War (billed as a Superman event) and Identity Crisis.

I haven't finished reading 52 or Countdown - d/l'd both as my poor budget couldn't sustain either.

I did pick up DC Universe 0 last week at the store and jumped right in and I'm stoked for Final Crisis as a result.

I'm more excited about the Secret Invasion event. DC events tend to go on for far too long and one event is generally treated as a prequel to another event. I also find that I only really follow/like a handful of their characters.
