SDCC 2013

Post by Artistix on Sat May 25, 2013 8:12 am

What are we all looking forward to this year at SDCC?

MOTUC is a big one for me. Have my fingers crossed for a Glimmer. More finalised Castle Grayskull too!!

DC & Marvel lines (figures & minimates). Any...Love them all!

Hoping DST show off more Star Trek Minimates. It would be nice if Hasbro had a couple of new Trek items, but I'm not sure if they have anything planned beyond what has been seen.

Should be a few cool reveals for WWE & maybe (big maybe) TNA Impact too. Funkadactyls!

More Hobbit stuff. More I say! Show me Elrond & Galadriel in 4".

Looking forward to seeing DCIE reveals (and possibly some DC / Batman Unlimited).

Would be neat to see some new photos of the Star Wars Black series too!

I'd heard someone mention a Metrotitan recolour of the new Metroplex toy... that would be badass. Very Happy

I don't know. There isn't much which is attracting my interest lately.

I'm obviously looking forward to seeing the MOTUC reveals, especially for 2014 since it's meant to be ALL A-Listers.

I would be looking forward to TMNT Retro Classics reveals, except it sounds like Bebop and Rocksteady are all we're seeing in 2013, so we probably won't get any other reveals until February 2014. Maybe Playmates will have some prototypes for the new live-action film, although I'd be more interested in seeing updated versions of the "movie" action figures released for the first live-action film.

A TDKR Superman figure would be awesome. A whole series of DC heroes and villains using MOTU sculpts would be great. But, at the very least, they need to release TDKR Superman to battle TDKR Batman.

An expanded Movie Masters line from Mattel including Donner Superman and Burton Batman figures would be great to see. Maybe include a 1970s Wonder Woman as well.

That's about it.

My collecting has slowed recently.....always interested in anything from marvel, street fighter, mortal kombat but I haven't picked up anything from those in a few years.... Only things I'll realistically buy will be 3A and MOTUC stuff.....with both of those I'm definitely picking & choosing too.

Final list Marvel legends rocket racoon wave. What is in it what are the variants? Future waves of Marvel Legends. My legends wish list:
New style Mockingbird
Gamora
Jubilee
Dazzler
Quasar
Aim soldier
Wrecking crew (not sure which ones are left?)
The Hood
Luke Cage modern version
Multiple Man
Gladiator
Any galactic figures
But I am sure we will just get more Iron man, Wolverine and Captain America :-(

They have said they'll be closing out the Crew in the Raccoon wave - starting with Wrecker, changing to Bulldozer.

I've been thinking about how I was going to respond to this thread but short term re ML, I would definitely want to clarification around the line up for the Raccoon wave (standard vs variants), as well as the fates of the unreleased variants to date (Moonstar, Blade, FF Doom, red Deadpool, Lyra, Sentry and Iron Fist - did I miss anyone?)

Hasbro's SDCC Marvel Legends exclusive this year is Luke Cage's Thunderbolts. 5 x 6" figures - Judith Chambers, Ghost, Crossbones, Cage and Moonstone

That's an almost perfect choice for an exclusive. Enough cool in that to make it desirable but nothing crucial to the MU that I would worry missing out on. Cage and Crossbones are the draw cards for me. I know a few people have been asking for a modern Cage (as above) at this scale for a while. What does every one think?

WOW!!!!! I was going to say the only SDCC exclusives I'll be chasing are the MOTUC set and the DC Collectibles 6 inch Hugo Strange, and maybe the GI Joe exclusive (if they do one). But that ML set id MUST HAVE for me.

Whoops - just saw the GI Joe set. Am a little indifferent towards it to be honest - the whole Joe/TF thing does nothing for me, although the Bludgeon figure is rather cool.

Was hoping for a Cobra-La set - definitely Golobulus, Pythona and a Royal Guard or 2, possibly a reissued Nemesis Enforcer and maybe Cobra Commander with snake head.

Oh well - maybe 2014.......

AH wowsers I really like the GI Joe set!

Also how massive will that ML box be!

Do you guys have any tips on how to get these through the various websites? I know all about Matty but wouldn't know where to start for the others

BBTS will usually do a VERY small amount of pre-orders for SDCC exclusives.

They basically send their own guys to SDCC to grab them which makes me think its less then guaranteed!

Sometimes Hasbro pop their exclusives up on hasbrotoyshop.com but that's less then helpful because they won't ship outside the 51 states.

Don't drop in for a year, then I need somewhere to exclaim profanities over the exclusives.

Profanities - will not be able to get for reasonable price.

Yearly contribution complete.

Hope all are well!

Huzzah! welcome back.......
Yeah.....why make Crossbones and already rare figure into another exclusive with limited release......this does not replicate the thrill of the hunt.....

P.S. I don't actually care as Iceman fixed me up with a crossbones a year or two ago.....he da man!

but still.......

Cage looks good

Thanks for the tips awe, yeah I went last year and I tried to get the ML X-force pack for 2 days and still didn't have any luck so it might be a bit of a gamble pre-ordering with BBTS, I guess it's worth a shot though!

Oh ok. So they added a Marvel Universe exclusive too.

And its all about Deadpool... and Tacos(?). I have to say, I acknowledge his popularity but don't understand it. Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe was an atrocious read.

Damn. I want that ML exclusive. I will have to start saving my pennies to get one off an ebay scalper. I will try other means but I think ebay and money will be the end result.
