PS3 Games Worth Buying

Post by MAN on Sat May 10, 2008 6:22 pm

Hi gang,

Bought the ps3 GTA4 bundle last week, trying not to play GTA4 too much cause I'm waiting for a copy from the U.S to arrive. So what else is good on the ps3? scratch

Thanks:)

I haven't got a ps3, but i'd like to get one eventually for Drake's fortune uncharted (or whatever it's called) and i'm a longtime fan of the ratchet and clank franchise. as for multiplatform games, i really liked assassins creed.

Oblivion is awesome if you like that kind of game (get the game of the year edition for all the extra content)
Marvel Ultimate alliance is like the PS2 version but smoother, not a top game but you should score it for about $60 maybe less PO'.
Motor Storm is a good racing game but gets boring pretty quick. (i have seen it for $25 PO'd in EB)
Resistance fall of man is good (i bought it for $25 PO'd from EB)

But Oblivion is my hot pick by a mile i spent 160 hours+ on the first run through and now i am a totally different character and playing style playing it again.

GTA4 is starting to lose my interest a bit, have been playing the missions and they seem a bit like doing chores after a while.

dang, that's annoying to hear. it's actually how i felt about the last few gta games, i'm hoping the new shooting controls will make the shooting sections more fun...

The shooting control is good, the mobile phone is good, the gps is good, the mini games are good, the gameplay is good, etc etc
But thats all it is IMO it just good, how much can they improve the gameplay and expect to make it all feel new?
The missions at the core are still your regular pick up this person, kill this person, deliver this thing, steal this thing, etc etc.
The little quirks and cool tricks look and feel great but after getting into oblivion i just expect more from a game i guess.
Maybe i should buy a Wii with mario kart Twisted Evil

That sums up Just Cause exactly sure free roaming can be fun but when the core of the game is the same mission over and over you eventually get bored...and this game was blatantly repedative

I'm hanging out to get Unreal...and a PS3.....only a month or so to go

thanks for your suggestions guys Very Happy keep em coming.

I've completed about 30% of GTA4, and have also noticed that you're pretty much just a hitman being used by different people.

What about sports games? Anyone play sports games?

hahaha!

How far are you into it UCK?

On a few missions I actually PLANNED what I was going to do after failing so may times. Usually I just go in and shoot up the place, but the new shooting system helps to be patient.

If you like racing car games, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is highly recommended. On special at JB at the moment for $49.

hehe, you were really fired up about when you got it. Sold my AU copy, STILL waiting for my U.S one to come.

In the mean time I've been playing fight night round 3 and nba 2k8. Thinking of buying Army of Two, heard it's a really good co-op game. Anyone got or played Army of Two?

I heard the u.s one has boobies Razz

It's much cheaper and less chopped up. Couldn't find a list of what was taken out, I'll leave that to the more resourceful members here.

I've read on a few sites that the differences are minor, but I'll be playing it next week (hopefully) to find out Smile

Got my copy from Game Importers Australia, I think their ebay username is 'giaustralia'. Got it for $75 AUD postage included.

i think the main things the were censored were options with the hookers and some people have commented that generally there's less blood in the Aus version (though i think that's unconfirmed).
