Marvel Legends - Hit Monkey Wave @TRU

Post by awe on Mon Apr 01, 2013 10:33 am

I just noticed these on the pegs today at my local TRU (Castle Hill). They hadn't priced them in the system yet, so I'm guessing they are pretty fresh and TRU seems to get things like this a week or two after King's Comics. There were none of the refresh variants either (i.e. Iron Fist, Lyla, Sentry...)

I grabbed an Archangel (which I _think_ was the only one) for $30. I didn't see a Red She-Hulk but there was at least one Protector, and plentiful Caps, Wolvies and Hyperions.

Happy hunting.

Had trouble getting Red She Hulk at TRU Penrith the other day. She wouldn't scan.

Cool figure. And she includes such a large chunk of Hit Monkey I am tempted to grab the other two figures needed.

$30? Ouch. Surely can order these online for cheaper?

I know that's Aus retail price but I just ordered Marvel Select Sabretooth, Juggernaut, Colossus and the Bandai D-Arts Mega Man off Amazon for $124 and that's including shipping.

Hell, I just got that TMNT Sewer Playset for $130 from an Aus store. Razz

Just checking Amazon now and they have 5 of that wave for $20 or less each. Even with shipping, it's cheaper than TRU here. Razz

I have to agree with you on that Jor-El. $30 is a pain in the hip pocket.

I actually pre-ordered the Ultimate Cap from this series from BBTS in a Pile of Loot (not knowing if these would show up here at all). Maybe it was because it shipped with a couple of those Star Trek Legends ships but when I divied up the final cost with shipping and exchange rate, it was still $30.

I'm too used to paying a premium for what I want, I guess.

Found a Hyperion - opened and BAF parts removed - and a Cap and a Wolverine at TRU Chadstone today. Didn't ring up. Asked what the price was and was quoted $17. Will probably regret not getting the Wolverine but I had a kid, nappies and groceries in hand and couldn't be motivated to trek to the back of the store to get it. I've really cooled on ML unfortunately.

Don't think the variants have been released anywhere yet?

Not worth the price and got these for $16 and a total of $120 with shipping from the states. The only good figure are Wolvy ,She-Hulk and Archangel.

Cap is the worst figure of them all with paint scheme and a gun that is unremovable.

It might be like Wrecker on series 1 then got pushed from wave 2 to wave 4. Most likely they would not get produced... so many things coming out like Iron-man Legends and Wolverine Legends.

Yep just picked bunch of these at TRU Innaloo, and got them at the $16.99 price as per the shelf label. Had to get them to override pricing as only one SKU had a price, which was $29.99.

I feel like ML is over for me, we can't get these characters for example: I really like that Sentry, Moonstar and Danni but we can't get them.

In the new wave we may not even get a Jim Lee Jean Grey. If Mattel bought the license , I do not mind reuse parts as long you have the variants and good head sculpt or less articulation.

Saw TRU Cannington had already been hit. Had 3 Caps, Hyperion and the white suited dude. Was hoping maybe to see Archangel, I'm already assuming he'll be hard to get so I give up already. Razz Will wait and see if Marvel Select make one.

On the plus side, I was planning to hit up Target for the Turtle Rippin' Rider cycle, as it was the cheapest I'd seen at $22. But TRU had a heap for $20. And then I saw one was reduced to $17 because the box was damaged. Since I'm opening, who cares, so bought and opened just to make sure nothing was missing. $5 saved. Smile

What what whaaat???

Isn't the Jim Lee version the main one, & the white Phoenix & AoA are the figures we'll probably never see?

If they dare...DARE...cancel a Jim Lee Jean, especially over the other two less wanted versions, they will have the entire collector community trying to burn down their offices.

I'll wait until the wave comes out before I start sacrificing my ML figs to the evil gods of pain and destruction - too many times someone's unsubstantiated opinion have set everyone off (here and in the more general sense) - unless there's been an official announcement, it's not happening.

I am just guessing if they are not going with the original (I was expressing my frustration on the variants not being released by Hasbro) e.g. below. But someone in the other forum said that the variants are still yet to be shipped by Hasbro. Very Happy

http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2013/01/Hyperion-marvel-legends-2013_1357403012.jpg
I think Sentry was the Original and Hyperion was the variant . I am assuming the first big picture is the original.

The Punisher is the original and Blade was the variant.Same as above
