Additionally, the writer is Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine, Toy Story 3), and the director is J.J. Abrams (Star Trek '2009', Star Trek Into Darkness, Super 8, Mission: Impossible III, Lost).

So, as of today we have not three, but FIVE confirmed Star Wars films confirmed.

Episodes VII, VIII, & IX, and now a Yoda film, and another centered on another (as yet unannounced) character.

It seems that the Yoda film might be expected to hit in between Episodes 7 & 8.

Disney is well and truly in the Star Wars business... Shocked

But one has to wonder, can one film every year really be sustained?

Two words Disney & Marvel

That is effectively what they are currently doing with those movies.

Only time will tell !!!!

Don't screw it up, don't screw it up.....repeat repeat....

I've never read the books/comics etc......what are the major happenings in the universe after the deaths of vader/emperor?

I just assumed everyone lived happily ever after eating icecream, picking flowers and watching fireworks and asking why their technology and buildings aren't as good as they were when they were growing up.

Luke's becoming the grandmaster jedi and found himself a sith wife + kid. From my memory on the 90's expanded universe.

When I was a teen (and there were only 3 movies) they released some books after the movie "the Jedi Academy", Luke and Leia are masters teaching their children and the next generation of Jedi's.
That was a long time ago and I am sure the universe has expanded since then.

It's about as perfect as a teaser gets. It has me so pumped for the movie it's not funny.

How much will Star Wars The Force Awakens make on release??

Post by Blaster on Mon Jun 15, 2015 5:28 pm

So Jurassic World made 500 million plus in its first 3 days and smashed pretty much every box office record in the process.
So my question is how much will SW The Force Awakens make??
How quickly will it cross the 1 Billion dollar mark?
Will it rewrite cinema opening day, weekend, week and month.
Star Wars is clearly the biggest franchises in cinema history and will continue to be for at least the next 10 years at least in my opinion.

For me I believe that The Force a Awakens may be the first movie to cross the 1 billion dollar mark on its opening weekend and will probably smash every box office record there is to break.
What does everyone else think.

P.S. Jurassic World was absolutely amazing, stunning and I thought it was well put together and I loved the nods to the original as well.

Saw it last night, great movie which keeps the style of the first trilogy. Bugger all talk of politics in this one. Happy to discus spoilers in a week or two

So, what do we all think of The Force Awakens?

My non-spoiler view is that I really liked it. Some small nitpicks, sure, but for me, the good elements vastly outweighed the bad. Smile
