Crystal Ball 2013 - SDCC

Post by fuzzcat on Fri Jan 04, 2013 6:45 am

Just for some fun (as I am bored out of my skull today), I'm throwing this out there for everyone to have a go predicting the SDCC exclusives this year - I was originally going to leave it as Mattel only - but feel free to contribute whatever you like from whichever company you follow. Maybe do it as list figures you'd like to see that you would DEFINITELY buy?

And use this as a wish list - ignore the fact it has been confirmed that there will be no GB exclusive this year and likely nothing Voltron related.

MOTUC - Modulok and/or Multi-Bot
DCUC - Fire and Ice 2 pack; Sandman (vertigo) 8 inch staction thing (to go with Death from 2012)
GB - Janine Melnitz & Louis Tully (in GB jumpsuit) 2 pack
Voltron - Villains 3 pack: King Zarkon, Prince Lotor & Haggar
Watchmen - Bubastis (Ozymandias' cat)
Man of Steel - Clark Kent to Superman figure set
ML - Guardians of the Galaxy 3 pack: Star Lord, Iron Man (space) and Gamora
MU - U-Foes 4 pack (Vector, Vapour, X-Ray and Ironclad)
Marvel Movieverse (4 inch) - Malekith (from Thor 2)
GI Joe - Miles Mayhem (from MASK); Cobra-La 3 pack (Golobulus and 2 Royal Guards)

Have it at, friends!

I'm thinking this tread could become our place to post all 2013 SDCC reveals as they happen?

Is anyone else underwhelmed by Mattel's offerings besides MOTUC? I have zero interest in Hot Wheels, 66 Batman or the Man of Steel pack. And don't get me started on the crappy New 52 Shazam......

What I'm very much looking forward to is the Hasbro exclusives - ML and GI Joe in particular!

Mattel has been pretty disappointing this year. Even the Rock Warriors have their issues (missing thigh clips, over-sized rock pieces).

The 66 Batman exclusive is kind of cool, especially the packaging. Although it's a rather ... insulting use of double elbows on a Batman figure!

The Superman and Zod two-pack is terrible. They really should have done something unique like Superman and Lois Lane. Or Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

New 52 Shazam looks okay, but it seems out of place for a DCIE exclusive which really should be utilised for something that isn't suitable for retail. Shazam is a retail figure. Apollo and Midnighter may have been more suitable for an exclusive. Or maybe Death in the correct scale. Or if they actually spent a little money, Granny Goodness!
