Need to have HUGE box thats light imported from USA

Post by Sam on Thu Nov 08, 2012 7:39 am

And after going through websites for fedex, usps, and some random ones, I'm getting quite depressed!

I've bought a cobra terror drome, and even when pulled apart it will need boxes around 28inch wide x 8 inch tall plus another box with the other section of 25inch wide x 13inch tall to send.

Does anyone know of a shipping option that wont be over $600?

Thanks in advance!!

The US post service has gone mad. Sometimes, from one part of the US to another international postage changes drastically.

I grabbed a Terrordrome a couple of years ago & postage was pretty expensive from memory. Atleast $300. I'd imagine it would be more than that now.

I bought a USS Flagg November last year. The lady was able to send everything but the biggest part of the deck. Postage quote was from $900-$1300 for the deck piece! She said she would investigate more options, but I never heard from her again.

I have found another guy on eBay who has the Deck pieces I need. He quoted $400 postage...which is a lot better than $1000+.

The upcoming Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull is $107-$121 postage. It's pretty big, so I thought that was rather cheap.

If you have the right connections you can probably work something out - likes business' who import large items. But it seems it is not easy to have large items sent overseas these days. Not sure about the rest of the world, but atleast with the US it is difficult.

My Flagg as it has been since I received it last November:
Crying or Very sad

The bastard piece I still need:

(I don't know if those measurements are correct)

yeh, its seriously screwed up the postal system. I got another quote from a shipping company and it was over 1000 for seamail type, its beyond a joke.

Its frustrating because as you said, you had a terrordrome sent a few years back, but now it seems impossible to do it for a reasonable price.

Short of flying over there I guess I'm just gonna have my friend keep it until the worlds postal system stops screwing us over ie he'll keep it forever !

sigh...

bloody shame about the flagg though, so close, yet so far! maaaann!!!!

I don't get it???

My Uncle bought a Mustang and got the thing shipped for $3k through a private company.

How do they justify $1000 for a toy?

There would be shipping companies that would put it into a container on a boat for you, prob would just take a while to sort one out.....what about getting it shipped to Canada and send from there or something.....if you can wait until next year I'll be there?

I emailed one place that had shipping by boat but it was just as expensive, which i just dont get?

Does Canada post have cheaper shipping rates / options does it? Or do you mean bring it back on the plane with you? I'm not exactly in a hurry as such, just want to get it without paying the earth!

thanks for the offer! In the meantime I shall look up canadian post to see if its a viable option =-)
