The secret orb room is a lot smaller than it appeared in the original blue prints. The Castle Grayskull will come with its own miniature/shorter version of the stand that came with the Sorceress. But, you still need the actual orb from King Grayskull.

No worries. I really should have added Toyguru's patented "subject to change" since Mattel won't confirm what else has been cut (if anything) until SDCC.

I guess with a larger amount of people cancelling orders, more things will have to be cut.

Doesn't really bother me as the only things to cut are the accessories, & I can get them in accessory packs.

I still have to figure out where I'm going to put this bad boy, even if the scale is smaller than I'd like it's still pretty huge!

I think the sold out is just for pre-orders. There's supposed to be day of sale stock when it's released (November I think). Think it's US$300 on the day plus shipping, which will make it around $450ish Australian all upwith the exchange rate.

I wonder if someone had made thier own Grayskull that is bigger and detailed.I know Sinigang could do it...with his talents. If its going to cost for mere $420...might as well just get it commissioned.

^^ Someone did make a Grayskull that people were buying. It wasn't a full playset, just the facade I think...though that's all some people wanted.

I'm sure there were entire threads devoted to it on He-man.org & Fwoosh, but I can't find them anymore.

I certainly would have much preferred a decent scaled facade...I'm sure a lot of fans just want something for a background display.

Yeah, that's exactly what I want.

I don't give a crap about the inside of the castle, or play features and crap.

I just want a huge (scaled) Grayskull facade to stand behind a future MotUC display.

I know there was at least one such project over on Fwoosh a couple of years back, but when I fell out of the loop on all this stuff I lost sight of that as well.

Last I heard he had finished his prototype and was hoping to get somewhere between a dozen and twenty castings off of it. Though this was pre-official Grayskull announcement, so there was plenty of interest, and due to that I think he had also stopped taking expressions of interest from people for a while if I recall correctly.

What ultimately became of that project, or any others like it, no idea I'm afraid.

Re: Castle Grayskull

Just been searching Fwoosh (hadn't logged on since 2011 apparently Laughing), couldn't find the original thread. Maybe it got deleted after the official Castle announcement was made. Can't seem to find hardly any mention of it over there now, nor the exact name of who made it. Found another custom Grayskull, but I believe that was always made as a one off, and that's about all I could find now.

Mind you their search system is kind of crappy as well, so maybe someone else will have better luck than I did.

Re: Castle Grayskull

There is definitely a mass-produced Castle Grayskull facade out there somewhere. I distinctly recall seeing threads about it in a few different forums.

Perhaps the maker received a "cease and desist" from Mattel after they started planning their own Castle Grayskull? And as a consequence s/he deleted all of their threads?

It wasn't cheap though. And I think you had to paint it yourself. But, it was huge.

A quick google and it looks like it was the work of a sculptor by the user name of Zombihamma:

Heman will never be completed without the Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain...that's the main point of the story regardless how many characters have been made.

After watching and reading the entire plot Smile

Yeah, though the vintage playsets do make for amazing backdrops, even if they are a little small. I love VeeBee's collection on Fwoosh:

Yeah Zombihamma's is the one I was thinking of. Apparently the mold broke, but he plans to try and fix it later in the year when he has the time. So might be worth keeping an eye on for those with an interest.
