DC on Mattycollector.com

Post by fuzzcat on Sat Jul 14, 2012 1:51 am

DC sub info - again, this is everywhere right now, so no spoiler needed

2012
Besides what we already knew (Platinum and Tin etc), last figures for this year are Constantine and Uncle Sam with mini Dollman, and oversized figures are Elasti-Girl and Lead (who is based on Darkseid CnC figure).

2013
12 figures and only one CnC scale figure which is exclusive - Monsieur Mallah with The Brain.
First 5 in sub revealed were Saint Walker (Blue Lantern), Phantom Stranger, Elongated Man, Larfleeze (Orange Lantern) and Wally West Flash.

Pretty cool, but not cool enough to make me subscribe.

I am very interested in the upcoming "Injustice" video game action figures though. I don't have much interest in the game, but I really like some of the character/costume designs, especially Superman and Wonder Woman.

As a DCUC completist I think Mattel have really outdone themselves and have filled some massive holes in teams, even got a couple more lanterns and a Wally West finally and John Constantine! Watchmen figures, DC/Batman Unlimited, Injustice game figures... things are looking bright!

These figures look even better in person hey, it's a definite for me, will be getting at least one sub, it's been crazy here so haven't been able to keep up with all the news but the other day they also had DCnU Batman , Superboy Prime etc All Stars MIB displayed so they might still be coming also.

They're all still coming. Either as part of the All Stars wave or the new DC Unlimited and Batman Unlimited lines.

Very happy with the sub figures received so far and really happy to see the remaining Metal Men figures will be done by end of year.......however a Doc Magnus to go with the M.M. would be icing on the cake. Elasti-girl will also close out the Doom Patrol. I wish Hasbro would consider closing out some of their team figures in the Legends size which have been open now for years. Smile

Still some players for Doom Patrol to go, Iceman - at the very least The Chief, possibly Mento or Bumblebee. And still need the original JSA finished, some incarnations of the JLA and Teen Titans, New Gods.....

I am, they are pretty pricey at $25US a pop but still worth it IMO

DC Infinite Earths 2013 is going ahead.

I actually didn't sign up for next year, but I am soo glad they got the numbers they needed to go forward. I'm sure I'll be hunting down a few of them.

YAY for DCIE.

I hope Mattel continues listening to the fans and concentrates on completing teams and providing key characters (especially some long overdue female characters like Huntress, Vixen and Wonder Girl (Cassie)).

I mentioned elsewhere, while ToyGuru has already said there will be a few females released in 2013, not seeing any amongst the initial 5 figures shown turned me off subbing.

I'm sure I'll be regretting that when we see the rest of 2013!! Laughing

Yay so happy the sub went through! I was pretty bummed as the thermometre was sitting REALLY low until the last day, it would be really interesting to find out just how many figures are need to be made to fit matty's min quota

I put in an order for the Young Justice 2-pack. The thermometre is low but the other subs all going through gives me hope. Not a lot of hope...but some.

Yeah, me too - no idea if we'll ever get a regular Miss Martian for DCUC, and there's already some animated looking characters from the Superman/Batman wave (Major Force etc).

The season 2 outfit are an interesting choice for both characters. But I only say that as I haven't seen season 2...really should watch that.

I wasn't sure of the order for the DCIE releases - found it on Inside Pulse:

July Starman
July Oversized Red Rocket
August Mirror Master
September Black Mask
October Poison Ivy
October Oversized Elasti-Girl
November John Constantine
November Uncle Sam
December Platinum with Tin
December Oversized Lead

January - Saint Walker
February - Phantom Stranger
March - Elongated Man

TBD
April - Larfleeze
May - Wally West Flash

Argh! MOTUC Batman. MUST. HAVE. NOW.

Also, new-new-new Wonder Woman. Sadly same old-old-old stick-figure female body sculpt.

I'm also very tempted by the Injustice (video game?) Batman and the crazily coloured Batman.

Wow thanks for the heads up Xen, they look awesome, loving the New 52 Wonder Woman and TDK Batman, not too sure about Injustice Batman, looks kinda 90's elseworlds line to me but I'd probably grab it anyways

Oh wow, that MOTUC style Batman is funky! Would have been cool to see WW on a MOTUC body.

I didn't think they could mix lines like that. Didn't DC throw a fit when a falcon was used between both lines at one point?

Maybe DCUC (which is licensed to Mattel from DC) can't be used for MOTUC.

But, MOTUC (which is all Mattel's property) can be used for DCUC?

Re: DC on Mattycollector.com

I believe the bird from the Wonder Twins set, and Beast Boy's green bird, were the same mould as Zoar and Screeech.

That 'MOTUC' Batman is pretty much spot-on to Miller's artwork from Dark Knight Returns - a style and story that holds no interest for me.

I can't see the Batman Unlimited line being more than an endless line of Batman variants (not necessarily with different weapons or the same mould in new colours - more from around the DC Multiverse), and not fleshing out or completing the Bat-Family in DCUC style (Huntress, Alfred, Gordon, Spoiler, Ventriloquist, Hush, various members of Batman Inc and The Outsiders, Firefly, etc) - let's hope we don't have to rely on DCIE for these guys.

Batman Unlimited does seem to heavily feature "Batman" to date. But, surely a matching Frank Miller TDKR Superman would be a possibility? And since they've included (another) Batgirl, how much longer will we have to wait for Batwoman? The fact we still don't have Huntress is pretty mind-boggling.

Yeah I hope it's not all Batman variants, we need a lot of supporting cast still, I wouldn't mind so much if they had comic / media accurate Batman variants though, I just hope they don't fall back into the DCSH recipe of made up costumes
