Return of Marvel Legends Series 3

Post by awe on Thu Jun 28, 2012 1:54 am

This could be old news on fwoosh but I haven't seen it here. BBTS just listed the case ratios and lineup for the new ML3. I remember seeing the proto for US Agent so knew he was coming and thought he would be my only get. But I'm very intrigued to see a new Doom and Punisher. Also I didn't know my favorite Iron Man armour had a name (Neo Classic). The first Iron Man I owned decades ago was the old Marvel Super Heroes with snap on armour over a bare-chested Tony. This was that armour. I thought the ML 2-pack with Maria Hill was the closest I would get. Maybe not.

Anyway...

This case is to include the following figures, along with the parts for the Build-A-Figure (unannounced as of this listing):

1x Mystique or Danielle Moonstar (Sorry, no choice)
1x Deadpool (X-Force Outfit)
2x Dr. Doom
2x Iron Man (Neo-Classic)
1x Punisher or Blade (Sorry, no choice)
1x U.S. Agent

Interesting - so potentially no seventh, non-BAF part figure? I thought that Mystique and Moonstar would be offered side by side, instead of this variant thing they are doing. Suggestions for BAF? I'm hoping they keep on the Wrecking Crew vein and give us Bulldozer, but am secretly hoping for either Stature or Lockjaw!

Whatever happened to those proto-types of 6" action figures of First Appearance Storm, Animated Series Jean Grey, Northstar, Aurora, etc that were shown in the past?

Are they still possible releases in the future?

I remember seeing two lots of prototypes, post-Toy Biz - there was one lot in Wizard with Northstar, Aurora, new Magneto, 1st App Storm, Yellow & Blue costume Gambit, Silver Samurai and Lilandra, with AOA Sunfire winning the vote and getting released; and all of the protos at Comic Con (?) where there was another vote, and Warpath, Valkyrie and Black Widow got the nod for the last (latest) wave of 2 packs. I would purchase most, if not all of these. Which reminds me, have to get to Big W sometime today and grab one of the those Ultimate Spider-Man 6 inch figures - it's of the new guy!

Not a bad set at all.

ToyBiz Mystique was way too small & spindley.

That 90's Jean will surely come out, she was a fan poll favourite:

I prefer the hair out, but they totally should do a variant with the animated series ponytail.

fuzzcat, I was at Big W at midnight for the toy sale. They had heaps of the new Ultimate Spidey, and if my blurred eyes did not deceive me they were only $15 and change.

But from the pack, there was only him, Movie Spidey and Movie Lizard in the set? How can you label it as being from the "Comic Series" when there is only one comic based figure? End rant.

I would have grabby-grabbied but I'm trying to budget. He looked sweet.

^^^^

The 6" Spider-man figures are only $15.00 at Big W as part of their sale. And it appears the assortment only includes the Ultimate Spider-man, Movie Spider-man and Movie Lizard. Still, it's great to see a 6" action figure for that price!

I'll be grabbing them, but may return them if the film is no good.

As a long term collector of these I am not happy with this series, all re-releases except USAgent.
It is great for new collectors but I wont be touching this one. My wallet thanks me.
