Robotech masterpiece collection wanted

Post by Otter on Mon May 28, 2012 10:42 am

So I have been watching Robotech Macross saga. Really want toys. Found out they dont have any current ones.
If anyone has any masterpiece collection they want to sell me for a fair price, please let me know.
Loose or MIB, it doesnt matter I just want me a Veritech!

Masterpiece collection was the local stuff right? I'm not really selling myself, just thought I'd see if you'd seen the alternative stuff? Smile

I've got some of the Yamato 1/48s like this one - Ebay

(Grabbed a 1S, 1J, 1A and a FAST pack and the GBP armour).

Paul used to carry some, but doesn't seem to have any right now. It's possible he's got some gathering dust though. Wink - Figures Direct,
Direct page (but loses the headers)

There are also an even wider range of 1/60 scale figures which are supposed to be quite good too. I can't speak for them though, haven't seen any in person.

I'd grabbed one of the Alphas from the masterpiece things, and he was rubbish in comparison. Sad Came with a broken knee joint and everything. Weird diecast and low quality brittle plastic combination, gave him loose joints and plastic parts that were damaged and cracking.

How fussy are you about what you get, and is there a particular Valkyire you want? Smile

I guess the main thing is i want one that can transform. I guess it doesnt need to be the masterpiece, if there is a more common transfomable size that would be better. I want it to be fully functional.

Pretty sure the 1/60s are now the preferred size for the valkyries, so richos offer might be what you need. Smile

I think the older 1/60s do transform but it's not a true transformation, you kinda have to remove the legs and re-add them in an alternate position. I'd heard the new 1/60s have true transformation though, and you don't have to pull them apart to get them to shift modes.

I've also found a rough size comparison (near the bottom of the page) between the 1/48s and 1/60 scale figs: Size comparison between 1/48 and 1/60

That said, 1/60s are definitely going to be cheaper too. Very Happy

(I think I way over-researched this when I was buying mine, I was really fussy. >_< )

Hey Sam, you don't like the 1/48s? Very Happy

Man... I was kicking myself when I realised they were getting phased out... all the cool newer valks in 1/60 only. Sad That said, I love how bulky the GBP on a 1/48 is on my shelf. Very Happy

Good luck with your trades, Otter! Smile If I can help at all... ask Sam, he owns them all. Razz

1/48's are cool for shelf presence for sure, but the diversity of the 1/60's is incredible hey!

Most definitely good sir. If you hover your mouse over the shipping charges it will show you cost.

Gotta say though the yen exchange is killing me right now, it sucks big time. Its not a good time to try and import. One of the newest renditions I'm getting, and its 115 for the toy plus shipping, so its really not cheap hobby these guys!

BUT.

I love em.

hehe

I got that VF-1S Roy 30th anniversary edition, it was a belated bday pressie from the wife, aka, I bought it and said its my gift from her, but its something that makes you giggle on the inside and play over the various scenes from the anime in your head while your fiddling with it!

they are hand candy for sure as well, they are fun to transform, without being too complex!

good luck, if you have questions feel free to hit me up with what limited knowledge I have!
