Spoilers & Trailers

Post by simmo on Wed Apr 30, 2008 5:07 am

I've recently banned myself from watching trailers for films, looking at stills either leaked or officially released, visiting websites etc etc because I'm finding more and more that I'm losing the "Wow" factor. When there's a film I really want to see, I want to be surprised and enjoy myself. After seeing the new Iron Man TV ad, I think I may be a little disappointed once I'd seen the film, if only because of the amount of detail in all this marketing these days.

Anyone else starting to feel the same way? scratch

I watch trailers or look at early production pics but that's about it. I'll tune out as soon as the movie is close to release as marketing tends to go on the roids then - magazine exclusives, TV ads and specials etc.

Have been avoiding articles on upcomings in Empire etc ever since Kill Bill II...... Nearly read an article on Pan's Labyrinth before I realised what it was about.... Phew, dodged that bullet....

Considering the amount of rubbish that is continually being brought out it makes no difference to me. I haven't been to the movies since I saw I Am Legend and there was a long period between that and the previous movie.

If theres a movie I really want to see, it makes no difference as to how much of the film I've seen before hand. For example, Harry Potter movies I'm always looking at the trailers and pics and everything and its still awesome going to see the complete product. They never ruin a film for me.

If im really looking forward to a movie the only thing i want to know about it is when it is released, I refuse to watch advert's,trailers, pictures anything associated until i see the movie, i have had many fingers in ears moments over the years thats not really related to this i just like that kinda thing.
