I need to update my sub w/ new credit card. Any tips?

My credit card expires in a few weeks, and I have received my new one, ready to activate.

My problem is, I'll need to make this change on my Matty Collector subscriptions.

Now, knowing how innept Digital River is, I am in a state of fear just thinking about all of this.

Has anyone updated their subs with new credit cards before, and if so, do you have any tips for me to help avoid ending up with a cancelled sub?

I updated mine on their site AND called them 6 days before they charged me and they still debited my old account. I called them again and they assure me it's been changed now but I'll believe it when I see it...

I'd do it straight after you get billed for a sub, give yourself the maximum time and call them! Also it doesn't hurt keeping the previous account open and funded up at least the first time.

When I changed mine I just emailed them to make sure it went through and that was it. I have heard the horror stories of changing a card but it was pretty straight forward for me.

Well, it's the same account, just a new card with new number and expiration.

Once I activate this one, the old card (and it's numbers) will be done. silent

I changed mine in the normal account, but when I tried to log onto the 'subscriptions' section, it was still 'under maintenance' and couldn't update it.

From what I understood it has to be changed in both the normal section and the subscriptions section.

I tried emailing customer support, but in the week since I've asked, no reply to it. I also PM'd the guy called Evilskeletor the new admin on their forums, it was only last night, but no answer as yet.

Doesn't it cost a fortune to phone them?

I've heard that the Matty Collector gods are pleased with the sacrificial decapitation of Hasbro action figures.

Perhaps if you sacrifice a few Marvel Legends at the same time as changing your credit card details, then all will be well?

Otherwise, as Sam as done, change it and then PM the moderator called "EvilSkeletor" on the mattycollector forums. From what I have read, he's one of the few moderators on the site who will actively follow-up and respond to queries.

I used Skype and was able to select as a U.S call so it may have been free, I didn't really notice any substantial hit to my balance

Ugh, I have to add a new debit master card too.

I think I actually received my new card a week or two ago. Took the old card out of my wallet & put them both together....then threw out the new card & put the old card back in my wallet! Laughing

So my new new card is on the way.

Not looking forward to changing my details on Matty. pale

This is the number I used a couple of years ago to call Digital River;

0011-1-877-229-3743

If you need to call the number you have, with the International code it should be;

0011-1-877-46-62889

Well, I just called Matty, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Surprised

I called, and was talking to an operator within 2 minutes, and had both subs updated with my new credit card, and everything concluded in another 2. Smile

Well, apparently Digital River can't do anything right after all.

I received a subscription renewal email telling me that my card is going to be charged, and that my sub figure[s] will be sent to someone other than me.

Neutral

A friend's name/address that I once had a figure gifted to 2 years ago, and never had anything shipped to since.

So now I'll have to call them AGAIN to tell them to change my sub name and shipping addresses BACK to what matches my ****ing credit card. silent

i literally just called them then, I could barely hear the fellow on the line. I gave my visa card, which they already had on file, but they didn't save the it was the one to use. So supposedly its now saved.

I also asked about the combined shipping, and that I hadn't received a payment request or invoice as yet, even though the sale is for tomorrow, but alas, its hadn't been done yet so thats why nothing.

And lastly,*busy phone call, only time ever I've done it!* I asked to change from the 'lost in mail' regular post, to UPS 'I wont get lost even if Its sent to the moon' version, and no, they wont. They prefer to have things lost and have to send a replacment or refund.

I guess I'm happy that the payment is updated, but the other stuff just is so blasted annoying.

Using this method, I was able to look at the information applied to my subscriptions, and edit them. Smile

Since you can only edit addresses, not delete, they switched my subs to my friend's address, and I've now switched it back (and I wrote over that other address with a duplcate of my own address just to be doubley sure) and saved the billing and shipping info on the site. Smile

As an addendum to the above linked method of finding the info to edit, you can access the sub edit menu from any order in your Order History from a 2012 subscription.
