TG's MOTUC Commentary

Post by Artistix on Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:50 am

I've just spent a while reading through these first few blogs of ToyGuru. Really, really awesome read! Can't wait for more.

I don't mind the blogs by Toyguru, but much like most of his online posts, some of his statements rub me the wrong way.

Still, it is good to hear some of the "insider" details about the origins of MOTUC and just how difficult Mattel "management" has made Toyguru's job.

I'm especially looking forward to a more thorough explanation of why Mattel moved away from the aim of having all figures available for a "three week window" to focusing heavily on sales of subscriptions (which I appreciate were asked for by the customers).

interesting read for sure thanks for the linky.

Is that 'master list' up for looking at or its still hidden. I have no doubt the upcoming figures are hidden, but it would be interesting to see the actual original rollout. .

Hidden. Locked away tightly in Castle Grayskull.

If Toyguru is to be believed, it doesn't sound like much has changed anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that Toyguru agreed to move Bow forward at the request of the Four Horsemen. Bow is one of my favourite MOTUC figures - such a cool translation of the Filmation and original toy designs.

Yeh cool if its on the level, but you never know. I find it a bit of a stretch that its 'we planned this years ago, fans just started to make noise for it, and we had already had that exact figure planned anyways' but hey, its not like its important.

Important is that we are getting them, albeit slow as all buggery for some*ie, ME* but they look great.

I never knew there was so many fiasco's surrounding this month aswell until reading on the org a bit. I'm not sure that a perfect release / no issues is possible, LOL.
