Warning: You might want to check your Snout-Spout...

Post by DroothR on Fri Feb 10, 2012 5:31 pm

http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/showthread.php?220749-WARNING-Snout-Spout-s-trunk-breaks!

It turns out that leaving Snouty posed with so much as a slight bend in his trunk will (over mere weeks) tear it straight through.

Shocked

This happened to mine a while ago. Figured it was already known.

It was obvious it would happen. Foam is a shit material for action figures. Maybe even worse that soft rubber (anyone with Toy Biz Cave Trolls would know what I'm talking about).

Ugh, why didn't they just sculpt it in non-posable plastic? Maybe a weight issue?

I think they just try and be too cute. The Ghostbusters Marshmallow Man was made of foam and it yellows. The DCUC Swamp Thing has rubber skin and it splits.

Will be interesting to see what Granamyr is made of.

That bendy stuff worries me. I don't think I ever moved his trunk as I was worried something like that might happen.

Sheesh! How fricken hard is it to use the same plastic that was used in the 70's and 80's for those crappy wire framed toys one used to be able to get?? You could bend them any-which-way and never worry about a split. Sure after YEARS of play and abuse they would eventually split, but fuck, using foam in this day and age????

so far the only prob I have with mr spout is his inability to resist gravity. He's constantly 'nosediving' off my shelf! appropriate, really.

wonder if they'll issue a head update that people can swap off with?

Even cooler, use this as an opportunity to make a 200x version, and they can sell a 2 head pack, one replacement, one 200x sculpt!

yeh, i like that idea ! whose with me? ? ! =-)

Someone even suggested a replacement head be included in a future figure release......but yeah, I reckon most would BUY a 200X head if it was sold on its own.

I like his 200X design better anyway. Was way cooler than the vintage look.
