Looking forward to seeing the new Muppet movie.
Anyone seen any Muppet toys/merchandise coming through stores?

Except for the Disney Star Wars Muppets I haven't seen any new figures.

Here are some pics coheteboy at Fwoosh took of the Muppet Star Wars figs with the Palisades versions:

I haven't seen or heard about any extensive new movie tie-in merchandise. I have seen a plush "Walter" toy on Ebay and I presume that other plush Muppets would have also been made, although differentiating the "new" plush toys from the older plush toys is beyond my Muppet knowledge.

I'm pretty surprised the merchandise is so limited since Disney is behind the movie and they're normally on-top of releasing all sorts of tie-in merchandise, especially toys, together with their movies. And I still wish that Disney was a participant in "happy meal" type promotions.

The Star Wars ones look pretty cool and funny.
I guess with so many other movies out at the moment its hard to find space on the shelf.

I really wanted Oscar the Grouch in the Sesame street line- I have Super Grover I just would have liked a couple more. I wouldn't mind putting my hands on that droid set though.

Wow. I never knew a lot of that Blaster. Thanks. Makes me weep as to what we could have had (particularly the Sesame Street stuff, which I knew about, but haven't see that much in regards to prototypes). Sigh. :/

I would have caved and bought fraggles, after resisting buying the other guys. Especially with a doozer.

I was really looking forward to the Muppet Babies....& Sesame Street...& Fraggle Rock. Plus Adult Swim series 2. Crying or Very sad

I've had to cram my relatively small Muppets collection into the spare room. They were in storage for years but came back out when I bought the Backstage set last year.

Still plan to buy more Muppets. Either Muppet Labs or Swinetrek will be next. Plus I really need Statler & Waldorf.

Saw the movie on Saturday (review in watchouse thread) Hoyts had plush toys as part of a $15 combo pack and were selling them $11 by themselves or $50 set of 5 with bag.
Kermit was sold out so my daughter got a Fozzy, Gonzo and Animal which she has been happily playing with all weekend.

This thread has inspired me to get all my Muppets out on display. Unfortunately don't have the space to show off all of the playsets, so they remain in storage. But the backstage set can fit quite a bit. Great playset.

Love that Jim Henson muppet. Definately have to hunt him down some day.

I really want the Rainbow Connection set too. Where Kermit has the banjo. Very cool. Very Happy

Has anyone seen these Muppet Whatnots in a local Toys R Us:

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12269443

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12269442

No doubt the price would somehow double even if they were seen in Australian stores, but I can't help thinking how much fun they would be!

I also wish the Palisades Muppets were more widely available. I'd like to grab a Kermit and Miss Piggy, although the trouble is, once I started how could I ever stop!

I saw these in a US TRU the other day and thought they where uber cool (Still trying to get my brain to process the FAO is part of TRU. It like Sonic on Nintendo my old brain does not compute...)

I'm quite interested in those Whatnots. Might grab one for myself & a couple extras for the niece & nephew.

They probably don't know what a Muppet is..but I'm sure they will love them regardless.

You're doing a poor job as an uncle if they don't know what a Muppet is! It's time for you to introduce them to the wonders of the Muppets.

Agreed. My daughter is 3.5 years and loves them. The first time I showed her the Muppets she was transfixed and watches them all the time. Her favourite is Muppets from Space followed by Muppets Treasure Island.
