If the original problem with that head was that it was 'pinched', wouldn't it have been corrected by now? or would the mold itself be pinched meaning every woman using that head will look odd?

I actually shouldn't pretend I know how this works. I had assumed that the mold was fine but the pinching was due to shrinkage of the raw material as part of the process.

I.e. there's not much they can do. I could be very wrong. Its been known to happen Smile

Shocking, I know. Very Happy

I ended up getting the MU Hulk from the Greatest Battles 2-pack. It has a much nicer, lighter green, color to it than the single carded version. This is, finally, my perfect Hulk at this scale. Just like when I got the old Toybiz Marvel Legends Hulk from the Face Off 2-pack, I know it can't get any better.... Unless they make a Mr. Fixit tuxedo version...

Just received notification of my case of Legends series 3 being in my 'pile of loot'.
I'll have to see if there is anything else I am after at a good price to lower the overall shipping price per item. May be the opportunity to finally get the 'Stripe' and 'Apache Chief' DC Universe waves.....they have them at $62.00 per set of 6 figures.
Looking forward to finally getting a USAgent in 6" plastic. Very Happy

That was a pretty harsh review. Mine is on its way from BBTS so I was interested in what he had to say. Not glad to hear Iron Man is small. I thought the Extremis Iron Man in series 1 was on the puny side and was hoping to put my Neo Classic Iron Man next to my Commander Rogers (who was on the big side).

Shoulder flaps are also weird.

But I have to say... any which way he held that figure... it looked fantastic!

I only look at his review because he uses a good camera. I just wish that they would put finger articulation .... hard to pose with some characters e.g . Iron man will only do repulser ray.

I'm a little disappointed that the Iron Man is so small (again). I thought they would have learned their lesson with the 2-pack IM, but here we are and Mystique is taller than Iron Man.

This wave has so much reuse it's astonishing. To think that Mystique is Madame Hydra but a different colour. Hoping that Blade is up to scratch as he's the one I'm most keen on.

Its the Toybiz mold or parts that made Hasbro looked good in a few toys e.g. Yellow Wolverine, Warpath (I somehow got the prototype says Toybiz and in Hasbro company small box), Kang and some of wave 1 and 2.Former Toybiz guy who made the first and second wave .

Re: NEW MARVEL LEGENDS

I personally don't mind re-use of parts to create new characters (worked for DC Classics) but they seriously need to start being consistent with their heights and builds. One would think that someone with a vast knowledge of Marvel's characters would be in charge of such an important part of the overall finished product like a quality control officer of sorts. Neo Iron Man could easily have been another 12mm taller and broader with the added height but I do like the paint job. Another Deadpool in grey X-Force colors is OK but the red variant will stay in the pack due to having the identical figure already loose from the twin packs. Mystique is OK but more looking forward to the Dani Moonstar variant. Likewise with Doom, it's more about getting the Foundation white version than one I already have even though they have improved on the finish. Love my USAgent even though he too could have been a tad taller and thicker set. Lastly yet another Punisher (albeit a great face sculpt), the comic version Blade variant is more the appealing one when they release him. I suppose the fill-in wave will hold me over to the first 2013 new wave. Smile

Re: NEW MARVEL LEGENDS

I guess in the scheme of things it's a pretty ugly wave if you're an established ML collector. At least they threw us a bone with the FF Doom. I'm a pass on the Punisher. I like the headsculpt, but not enough to buy another Frank. Especially the Jim Lee version. I would have preferred a Bradstreet or even Olivetti's recent War Journal version.

The scale ship has well and truly sailed methinks. The new Thor was evidence of that. He's only meant to be 6'6", but the figure is gigantic. Yeah, it's nice, but it's just too big for me.

TRU Moore Park had most of them. I bought a Deadpool (yet another figure I had already made a custom of that has now been released) and after much searching on their part and much hoping they would make a mistake in my favour - it was $25 as expected. I had planned on buying Iron Man but the reviews are right.... he's just too small. US Agent looked pretty nice though. Maybe I'll go back.

I found them in my TRU in Belconnen, Canberra.
$25 a pop. As usual it looks like just one case. It looks like the running changes of Mirage/Dani, White Doom, Red Deadpool and Blade will come later as I couldn't see any of them.

Found evidence in TRU Chadstone. One Iron Man laying on a shelf in what would have been the diagonal opposite corner of the entire store from the Superhero / Action Figure aisles.

Price checked it and it rang up item not found.

Yeah, they couldn't find a price either when I bought the Punisher. Weird really, I would have thought that actually pricing your stock would be fundamental to a retail store.

Toys-R-Us Gepps Cross (South Australia) has them.......seen all on a single peg except Dr. Doom. Pretty sure that was because the peg was full. Scanned at $24.95. Smile

Re: NEW MARVEL LEGENDS

Post by awe on Wed Sep 19, 2012 8:49 am

I think that Doom looks superior to my ToyBiz ML Series 2 one. Going by this review anyway...
One Per Case - Dr Doom Review

2002? Ten years ago? Geez. Has it really been that long?
MarvelLegends.Net - ML2 Dr Doom

Ol' Pizza-face Doom from the FF box set was the same buck with a new head sculpt I think.

Aside from the scale issues, Hasbro is really tempting me with these ROML figures. I'm really hanging for Wave 4 where I believe (fingers crossed) they are reusing their Commander Rogers mold for an Ultimates Cap. In which case, his hugeness will play in my favour and should look nice next to my Marvel Select Ultimates Iron Man and Hulk which are at a slightly larger scale. That's the plan anyway.

Excelsior.
