NEW MARVEL LEGENDS

Post by The Iceman on Tue Dec 06, 2011 7:41 am

Heads up guys!!!
The Big Bad Toy Store has up for pre-order the Marvel Legends Series 1 Terrax BAF figures. At this stage they only have cases available at $120.00 a case of 8 figures + $48.00 for shipping. That comes in at $21.00/figure and at today's prices with build-a-figure parts included I am comfortable with that. Smile
The wave consists of
1x Steve Rogers
1x Ghost Rider
1x Modern Thor
1x Constrictor
1x Hope Summers
1x Klaw
2x Extremis Iron Man
There are random variants.
It would be great if TheGoodDr could be the Australian outlet for these.
Is it worth an enquiry with your Hasbro rep Paul or too early for Hasbro here to know whether they will be carrying them. Smile

Thanks for that Paul.
Yeah I know what you mean about being tempted outside of what you collect. I have been so tempted to jump on the MOTUC stuff because of sentimental reasons and the fact that they are just damn good figures but budget wise it's just too hard to do because unfortunately I am never satisfied to collect anything randomly it's got to be the set or none. With collecting Marvel figures and I still get about 8 comics a month the wallet would be empty. Sad

They have re-adjusted their prices overnight.
A case as above is now $125.00 + $54.00 for shipping = $22.40 per figure or
just the set of 7 for $120.00 + $48.00 for shipping = $24.00 per figure.
They have also listed individual figures for sale.
Might be better to stick with the case and sell off the spare Extremis Armor Iron Man. Smile

Great work Paul, thanks for asking. Here's hoping they have Australia in their relaunch plans. The action figure aisles here have looked sad for a long time.

They used to be such fun, but now they're lucky to have half an aisle of second rate action figures like Ben 10, Power Rangers and those knock-off JLU/Batman figures that seem to be everywhere.

I often wonder how many people here actually 'find and buy' their toys anymore at retail (bricks 'n mortar) stores....??

Not me anymore. I got sick of being disappointed everytime I made a special trip to look around. You would reckon with 2 TRUs, a couple of Big w's and Target / Kmart, there would be a semi decent collection of things, but nope. Anytime there might be something of interest its way overpriced. But usually there is nothing there except old stock of crap, or new stock of Ben 10 crap LOL.

Mind you, my collecting habits now are more focused on things that NEVER see the light of day in Australia anyways, so thats the way it is. Macross, GI joe and MOTUC, ones japanese, one seems to think the USA is the only place that matters to try and sell stuff, and the other is online only.

But I agree that it used to be fun to pop on down the street to find figures of the latest wave of Legends. It would be quite satisfying finding a new and unique figure on the pegs. But gone are those days.

Yeah, miss it.
I havent bought at retail in ages. I think the last lot was when Go Lo had Marvel Legends 1st wave Hasbro many years ago.
I think it was 7-8 years ago when i started collecting Marvel Legends and they were everywhere. i came in late but i still managed to find Toad and Stealth Iron Man in Target stores.

So, is this thread saying TheGoodDr is potentially going to be our dealer - or should I be putting my pre-order in with BBTS?

Or not known yet?

LoL.....no, I'm just trying to find out if Hasbro Australia intend bringing these into the country next year. Even if they do, I suggest the pricing at BBTS will be better than those sold domestically anyways Sad

Does anyone actually know if we are getting these figures and will they be retailed along K-mart, Target and etc?

I do know comic shops in Sydney are getting it but they will be overpriced e.g. Hobby Co sells DC for $13 and Comic Kingdom (Sydney Comic shop) sells them at $26.

I do not really like the first wave only few that I would like to buy e.g. Steve Rogers, Klaw, constrictor , iron-man and the BAF Terrax. However , the second wave BAF is better Arnim Zola.

They should make Morph, Sauron , Jubilee and recreate the exclusives or rare ones e.g. Rogue,Jim Lee Cyclops (bigger body from the x-men cartoon of the 90's)

Don't get disillusioned. Wait and see whether Paul has any sucess with his Hasbro rep or if not resort to a trusty online store in the U.S. If you don't want the set I am sure singles would be available with most online stores (including Paul's). Smile

Might be tempted to buy back into ML's they have looked impressive from what I've seen so far, and anything under $25 for 6-7 inch figs is ok imo

The only toys I buy at retail now is lego, like you said Xen, it's all Ben 10!

I guess the local comic store could be classed as retail though?

I received the 1st Qtr plan from my Hasbro Rep just before Xmas, and there's nothing Marvel Legends (or Universe for that matter) featured. There's certainly Avengers based product.

Re: NEW MARVEL LEGENDS

Just seen on ebay a Hong Kong seller has 2 sets at auction - 1 set standard and 1 set variant. The three variant figures are the Stealth Iron Man, Steve Rogers with clear shield and orange flame Ghost Rider but like Paul I am loving the blue flame regular. Smile
If they end up with 3 variants every series I am going to go broke.
I know it's about making extra money but with the Steve Rogers figure it wouldn't have hurt them to put a clear shield in with the normal version.
I like the idea from series 2 better with running variant changes where you get a whole new figure but Hasbro know while ever there are completists like me out there we will buy the lot. Very Happy
