My MotU-y work day...

Post by DroothR on Thu Aug 18, 2011 12:21 pm

My day job these days is as a picture framer, and on most days I'm just framing up crap, with the occasional impressive piece.

But today was different.

Today I got to frame some of these...

Original hand-painted Filmation cels and backgrounds.

Shocked

Just thought I'd share the awesome. Razz

The coolest aspect of them in person is the backgrounds.

Sure, they looked awesome on the show, but seeing all of the individual brush strokes, and details that don't transfer over to the original low-resolution broadcast is a mind-blower.

I sure hope it's possible for the cartoons to get remastered in 1080p some day... Very Happy
